I just got a book for Christmas called “A Total Waste of Makeup” as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to have some part of that be my new blog title. Then I started reading it and I was sure!!
The book is about a girl closing in on 30 who is single who is writing an advice book to her great grand niece(because she figures she will probably never have kids)
And one of the things in there is “Some days are just a total waste of makeup.”
How true that is.
When Chad and I broke up I really wanted to re do my blog. For one he was in the header that Jenn so amazingly changed the day after we broke up. Also nearly every post had something to do with him. I wasnt going to delete every post but I wanted a fresh start.
Since Chad Ive gone on two dates with two different guys.
One night I came home and said out loud “well that was a waste of makeup”(this was before the book)
I felt like when I got the book it was meant to be.
I feel like we all have those days.
We all have bad work days, bad school days, bad friend days, bad relationship days, wake up on the wrong side of the bed days and days in general that at the end you realize are A COMPLETE WASTE OF MAKEUP!
I didnt fully copy the title of the book as I changed the word “total” for “complete” which I liked better…..sneaky huh?
When I went to Jenn she completely understood my vision and I was VERY specific on what I wanted. She understood what I needed and why I wanted a whole new look.
I chose the idea of a cartoon picture over a real picture of me because I just thought it was fun.
I wanted soft colors that were welcoming and after 2 drafts of the blog it was perfect.
I cant thank Jenn enough how amazing she was and how fast she did this!
For me the new blog look also just represents a new start in my life.
I think this one will stay around for a while 🙂

I love the new name and look! I may or may not have “squee’d” in agreement when I first saw the new title. I know I’ve felt that way before, hehe.
And the layout itself is just gorgeous, she does great work. I’ve seen other blogs she’s done, but this was definitely my favorite!
I love cartoon blogs. They’re so cute, and I think they often tie in with the layouts better. 🙂
