How To Combat Dry Skin

I have extremely sensitive skin. In my second trimester of pregnancy, I noticed my skin was getting super dry! I have tried lots of things in the past few weeks to help my skin and feel a little more comfortable, so I figured I would share with you how to combat dry skin and my partnership with AmLactin.

How To Combat Dry Skin

Water: Drinking more water has really helped keep my skin more hydrated so that it becomes less itchy and irritable. We hear all the time about the benefits of drinking water. I mean really, what can water NOT do? But I am telling you I see a huge difference in my skin when I drink enough water compared to when I do not.

New Products: Pregnancy has really given my skin some rough spots. I had a friend warn me that she got really dry skin when she was pregnant. I was feeling a bit self-conscious about it. I was recently introduced to AmLactin. I had never tried their products before, but y’all they are now my go-to lotions! There are quite a few of them, but my two favorites are the AmLactin® Cerapeutic® Restoring Body Lotion and the AmLactin® Moisturizing Body Lotion. I use both of these in the morning, at night, and then anytime throughout the day when my skin is feeling dry. I have noticed I get the most dryness on my hands and arms and this has really helped. I also keep a small tube on my nightstand to use at night. I feel so much better, and I feel like the noticeable dryness on my hands and arms has gone away almost completely!

Cooler Water: When I shower I love hot, hot showers. Well, hot showers can irritate your skin! So I have been using cooler water. Not cold, but just not super hot. I have noticed a huge difference in how my skin feels after each shower! Try to tone down the hot showers and see if it helps! I really think AmLactin is something you would like if you are someone that ever has issues with dry skin! Also give these other tips a try too! I would love to know how to combat dry skin in your opinion!

  1. I can’t enter the contest because I live in Canada but I do have incredibly dry skin. I use coconut oil to combat it.

water is definitely key to keeping your skin hydrated. I had no idea about the hot water in the shower though. I may tone my temp down some to see if it helps. Thanks for the tips 🙂

Oh yeah, dry skin season is coming. I usually just slather body butter all over, winters can get pretty rough up here. (And I love hot showers too!! I don’t think I can do cold ones lol). Wish I can enter your giveaway!

I swear by pure coconut oil to soothe dry skin. It works like a charm. Just apply it after a bath or shower, to damp skin.
