As you all know I have been on a new sleep routine. I have been trying out Febreze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist and ZzzQuil (on nights when I have difficulty falling asleep) to help with making sure I get great sleep. I would say I probably use and the Febreze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist nightly and it has GREATLY improved my sleep! I have so loved getting a good 8 hours of sleep! According to a survey fielded by Febreze and ZzzQuil the average time spent falling asleep after getting into bed on Sundays is 64 minutes! You can read about my 5 Tips for a Great Night Sleep here.
As you may know this coming weekend is Daylight Savings. Not the good one either. This is the dreaded lose an hour of sleep one. You know the Spring Forward an hour and lose an hour of sleep one. Ugh we all hate this. We dread it every year because we know we are going to get one less hour of sleep and that we will feel like we have jet lag for the next week. According to a recent ZzzQuil survey, more than half of all US adults say their sleep is affected by Daylight Saving Time; for those that say they suffer from occasional sleeplessness, more than 60% cite DST as effecting their sleep.
Want to know my tips for preventing those feelings of sleeplessness for Daylight Savings time? Note I am not an expert these are just the tips and tricks that work for me.
First of all try to go to sleep a little earlier each night during the days leading up to Daylight Savings. The reasoning behind this is that you won’t feel like it is such a shock to your system when you lose that one hour. It also helps to set your alarm to wake up about 30 minutes early each morning as well.
Spray the Febreze Sleep Serenity Bedroom Mist all throughout your house instead of JUST your bedroom. My husband does this and it helps us be relaxed after dinner before we even get ready for bed. Studies show that inhaling lavender instantly calms you down. That’s why we love the Moonlit Lavender spray so much.
Download a sound machine app for your phone. There are tons of free ones with very calming things to listen to. We personally love the sound of the ocean and it’s so much better then having your TV on to fall asleep to. I am so bad about falling asleep with the TV on just so there is some sound. Well try the sound apps and that way you get the sound you need without the brightness of the TV that may cause you to not sleep well.
My last great tip is if you still have trouble falling asleep, take some ZzzQuil to help you fall asleep easily and wake feeling refreshed. If ZzzQuil feels like it could be right for you, here is a $1 off coupon: http://bit.ly/1FNJIxj
These will ensure that you get that really restful sleep so that your Monday after Daylight Savings doesn’t have you falling asleep at your counter while the coffee is brewing like I was last year.

I am always on my kindle with the tv on when I am trying to fall asleep! I’ll have to try those apps.
My husband lives on ZZZQUIL. I am more of a sleepy time tea person before bed and a little reading which always makes me tired! Sometimes just watching some good ole fashioned television does the trick too. Oh, and put away the phone! Social media will always keep you awake.
My best sleep advice is to write down everything you have to do the next day BEFORE you even lay down. Then your mind can relax and you’ll sleep more soundly!
ps can’t wait to try the Febreeze!!
Lavender is the best for calming me down! I have a light lavender mist that I spritz on my pillow and on my sheets before climbing into bed. I also have heard that drinking a lot of water throughout the day can help you sleep better later that night…not sure if it’s true, but since drinking H20 has so many other benefits, I figure it can’t hurt!

My good tip for a good nights’ sleep is reading for half an hour before bed. I feel like that always helps me relax and get into sleep mode.
Send the baby to grandma’s! That’s my goodnight’ sleep tip! Haha
I have been using a sleep app on my iPhone for years now! It has always made it super helpful to fall asleep, especially if I’m out of town or in a different bed than my own. My favorite one I’ve found is Sleep Pillow Sounds- lite, it’s free and available on the App Store, I’m not sure if Android has it or not! (When I had an Android phone for a short period of time I used one called Relax and Sleep that was also free.)
I learned a few breathing techniques in a relaxation class back in high school that I still use when I’m having trouble sleeping.
This weekend already?! BLAH.
I don’t really have any good tips – I am here to read yours! 🙂
I stop drinking Starbucks after 2:00 pm. Guaranteed good night sleep
I read that a sudden change in body temperature can help when falling asleep. So, every evening when I put on my pajamas, I make sure to bundle up and get warm (not hot). Then I strip off the extras (pants, socks, etc.) before climbing into bed. I also try to limit TV and phone usage 30 minutes before bedtime.
I can’t wait to try the Febreeze!
Ooh, I’m bad about falling asleep with the TV on. But I do love using lavender to help everyone relax. For me I can’t fall asleep if I’m too cold. So I make sure I have enough blankets on my side of the bed (especially during the winter).
I use flux on my computer to limit the light exposure that affects sleep :). I’d love to win this kit!
I like to take a nice hot bubble bath just before bed. I always sleep better.
Don’t check your emails or facebook an hour before bed. It helps to clear the brain and not think about all the things you need to take care of.
I love this give a way! Thank you for your generosity. First to unwind toward bedtime I turn my phone off every night at 8. I just ignore it at night and do not use social media in the evenings.
I like to use lavender essential oil and sprinkle it on my pillow and sheets as I air them out before making the bed in the morning. When I get into bed they smell so relaxing. I also go to bed an hour or two before bedtime without my phone, and read, journal and write lists. . Leaving the phone out of the bedroom helps. I have no TV in my bedroom but I do take my Kindle for a quick check of news before I read. I take my organizer with me and write my lists for tomorrow. I just started setting my alarm 2 hours earlier to have a morning workout . Now I find I sleep better . These are great tips for a good nights sleep thanks Neely
Oh I would love this giveaway! My goodnight sleep tip is I make sure that I’m in a constant bedtime routine, brush teeth, wash face, get in bed, turn on my wax burner with lavendar, vanilla or honey and really just release my mind… It honestly relaxes me and allows me to sleep so much BETTER!
Exercise or stretch before working out.
oh gosh, I love zzzquil! Ha! That’s my go to!
I like to read before bed – it always gets me relaxed & ready to sleep
About 2 hours before bedtime drink a glass of water! 🙂
Unplug 30-60 mins before bed.
I love the milk and honey! I just started using it and maybe it’s all in my head, but I can definitely tell the difference in my sleeping habits when I spray it on our bed
a little lavender goes along way to calm everyone before bedtime
I have a vaporizer by my bed that helps fight the winter dry air! Thanks for the chance to win 🙂
So, who won the giveaway? Was it announced somewhere and I missed it?
