Thankful for being let go from my last job

Back in October I was let go from my job, I had actually been hoping to be let go because I HATED IT. I hated everything about working there. The company, my boss, everything. It was run so piss poor and I hated every second of it. The only thing I liked is some days I could work from home which meant not having to deal with anyone.

Then I was let go with severance which was WONDERFUL! I took a few weeks and thought hard about what I wanted. I knew for a long time I wanted to start my own company. I am a work for yourself kinda girl. I want to be MY boss.

I already had a lot of balls in the air, My eBooks I am working on, my blog, freelance writing, freelance Social Media so it only made sense to have it all be one entity and form an LLC.

But first I needed a name and Waste of Makeup Media was born. I mean it had to go with the blog and I just love it.

So then of course I had to buy the domain name(YAY it was free) then I had to find a lawyer and get the LLC started. Then of course had to turn to Jenn to design the website(currently being done). She also did the above facebook header and logo.

I am so excited about this journey and I love all the clients I have so far! I am currently thinking of hiring an intern for college credit so if you know of any college students in the DFW area that would want an unpaid internship working for an awesome startup learning a crap ton more than they would in a classroom. Let me know!

Pray for me that this works out. I thank you all for your support and love!!! I especially thank you Neil for thinking my Social Media skills sucked and telling me that I was not good enough for you. I really hope you read my blog. I really hope you realize that you didn’t make a mistake in letting me go because I am a lot happier now.

Sometimes things happen for a reason, and you may not know what that is but then you realize it was inside you the whole time.

Isn’t it crazy how everything happens for a reason, and we usually end up so much happier? I really enjoyed this one, Neely! I hope your company is super successful- you deserve it! You work so hard:)

I totally agree with you about being a “work for yourself type of girl!” I absolutely hated working for companies and other people. There might have been two jobs that I didn’t mind, but still, when it came down to it, I would much rather work for myself. That’s why I started my own business too!

    Go us!

That is pretty awesome. Good Luck!

I left my job at the end of September because it was no longer serving a positive purpose in my life. It was the best decision I have ever made. It wasn’t easy and it still hasn’t been easy for me, but things happened in my life that would’ve been impossible while still had that terrible job.

I wish I was still in college and in the DFW area. That sounds like such an awesome internship for whoever gets it! And, seriously no job is worth being miserable. I moved to Hawaii and thought I landed my dream job. Turned out to be a total nightmare. Nothing is worth that. I wish you all the best in your new venture!
