Trying a new workout class can be a bit overwhelming. For me at least nerves always set in. Will I look silly? Will I know what to do? What do I bring? This can also go for workout classes you attend often. Sometimes you just feel uneasy about it. I wanted to share with you the things to take to a workout class so you always feel prepared!
Hair Tie/Headband: Us girls hate having our hair in our face when we workout. The other day at the gym I saw a girl constantly fussing with her hair, which was down while she was working out. I just kept thinking “girl put your hair up!” I always have mine in a pony with a few bobby pins and a Lululemon headband for good measure. This will keep you from getting distracted during a class or any workout.
Water: No one wants to pass out in a workout class. I remember my first body pump class and I had no idea how intense it was going to be. I actually completely drank my 28oz water and had to run out and refill it during class. Make sure you have tons of water on hand!
Correct Clothing: Different classes may require different clothing. For barre classes you want to wear pants, a tank top, and sticky socks. For yoga you’d want to be barefoot and make sure your top is tighter so it doesn’t fall over your face during certain positions. For body pump you would want to have on good sturdy shoes. Doing a bit of research or even asking the studio or gym what the right clothing attire for classes are is key to making sure you feel your best!
In Case of Emergency: We’ve all been there am I right? That time of the month comes a little early or maybe when you weren’t quite expecting it and you feel unprepared. Plus you want to be discreet. I was once in a barre class when this happened (TMI alert) and I knew I had to be discreet and get this taken care of. Having a few tampons in your gym bag or purse is key for these situations. Lately, I have been using o.b.® tampons and I love them for so many reasons. Every woman’s body is different. That’s why o.b.® tampons are designed to help stop leaks by expanding all-around to fit each unique shape. Fluid-Lock® grooves for locked-in leak protection. The only one with SilkTouch™ cover for ultimate comfort and protection.
Post Workout Snack: Working out makes me hungry! I always need a little something after. A few of my favs are pretzel sticks with a baby bell light cheese, a granola bar, or grabbing a green smoothie from the smoothie bar at my gym. This will refuel you and save off any headaches.
What are the things to take to a workout class that you feel are important?

besides those, I also keep a paper towel or a towel handy because some classes are intense and i have sweat dripping (sorry this is gross)…water is an absolute MUST followed by a hair tie. I have been that girl with hair all over my face because my hair tie broke at some point during the class 🙁
These are great ideas! I always try to remember the correct clothes and a post workout snack. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t know/stand how some girls don’t put their hair up when working out!
Awesome post, I’m never prepared for the unexpected. Should definitely keep some handy! haha thanks for sharing !
I have always wondered how people workout with their hair down! BLAH! But oh man, totally on the tampon thing. Today I walked into yoga with a tampon in my sports bra, ready for anything! 😉
Water is key!
Yes to all of these suggestions! I have to have water when I work out and afterwards!
YES to all of these!
I absolutely need water and a hair tie during a workout.
xoxo, Jenny
Yes! All of these are total necessities. Especially correct workout clothes–you don’t want to be wearing a big flowy shirt to a yoga class!
