Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Workout/Diet

I have not done Wedding Wednesday in a while and since there are only 6 more Wednesdays till our wedding I figured a Wedding Wednesday was in order.

Oh man I am so ready for this 6 weeks to fly by. I think saying yes to the dress also means saying no to to your lifestyle as you know it. I would say for the first few months after I bought my dress I was very good about diet and exercise. When I went for my first fitting the dress was HUUUUGE on me and they said to stop losing weight. Then I went for my second fitting and the dress fit perfect. So then I was like crap  I need to diet and exercise more. I guess I don’t really diet so much as stay very conscious of my portions and what I am eating. I also exercise 5-6 times a week which is no different than what I was doing before. I have been focusing on toning more than cardio though.

Where are my other bride friends who during the wedding planning just want a giant cheeseburger and fries? Cause some days I just want to eat all the foods.

I want to not work out although I do love working out.

I am ready to be on my honeymoon I won’t lie.

I know this sounds kind of ramble post ish but these are the Wedding things on my mind this week. That and where on earth should I put all the gifts? Our second closet is already full because it houses a lot of clothes as well.

Thank god Andrew is helpful.

So what were you thinking 6 weeks before your wedding?

  2. You’re not the only one, haha. The worst is when your dress is hanging on the back of your door, and you still can’t motivate yourself to work out.

Just having a baby feels kind of the same! Lots of pressure to get the baby weight off! I told myself I’m not going to stress over it like I did last time, but just focus on having a healthy lifestyle and staying active. I’m sure you are going to look perfect on your wedding day!! As long as you maintain, that dress should fit great! 🙂

The wedding, divorce and first three months of pregnancy are the best diets in the world. Really. been through all 3 (the wedding twice) and lost about 8 pounds each time.

Seriously I was at my skinniest when I was 3 months pregnant. It was the lack of alcohol….

I’m been married so long that I don’t even remember what I was thinking the 6 weeks before my wedding, but when I was planning my daughter’s wedding, I was having nightmares that the caterer didn’t show!

  10. I was SO obsessed with working out in the months before my wedding. I jogged every few days, and did 2/3 of the P90X workout before I just ran out of hours in the day to do it the month prior to the big day. I had so much DIY stuff to do, plus 50+ hours a week at work, I couldn’t squeeze in the hour with my dear Tony Horton.

I still ate good food though. That’s the beauty of working out. You can maintain! 🙂

I am with you too! My brother gets married October 10th and I’m about 3 sizes larger than the dress I bought a year ago (wedding party) and man I am nervous! I am not a fan of working out so I’ve started walking at least an hour, with a small jog in at the start and in the middle to keep my heart rate up. I’ve been eating almost raw/vegan and I just want every french-fry I see.

  13. don’t they usually do the second fitting pretty close to the wedding date? that’s what we did so i didn’t have too many issues.. but maybe i just did it on a different timeline. best of luck with your diet and working out!! i haven’t been on any specific diet, i’ve just been trying to generally cut out half my carbs and run every other day.

I missed out on a lot of wedding things because my husband and I got married and planned our wedding in 6 days. I didn’t have time to think out about details, and I kinda missed out on the fun parts too, like trying on multiple dresses and having a bridal shower. But if I were to do it over again? I’d do it the exact same way.

Oh gosh, that would be difficult to have the added pressure of not being able to lose/gain weight. I feel like my weight is always fluctuating and that would be stressful for me. I hope you are able to find the right balance of exercise + junk food so that your dress fits perfectly. 🙂

  21. Honey,
That “diet” will follow you throughout life unfortunately. I did the wedding diet, the after baby diet, the after second baby diet, the I’m in my 30s diet….lol. It’s annoying. But, think about how FAB you will look in your wedding dress and tell that cheeseburger that they are not going to ruin it for you….lol. good luck.

  22. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary leading up to my wedding. I think I annoyed a few people (LOL) because I didn’t switch up the eating or work out. I just stuck to what I had been doing. It worked for me and took the pressure off of me.

I was more so focused on our trip than my diet before our wedding. We had a destination wedding so I was more concerned that we’d get there on time and have everything with us! Luckily, the dress still fit when we got there. 🙂

  30. I lost 40lbs before we got married and have gained some back over the course of years spent basking in the glory that is infertility. :\ I’m working on getting back to where I was. It’s slow progress, but it’s working.
