I think Holiday weekends should always be relaxing. They should always be filled with lots of downtime and thats exactly how we spent ours.
I haven’t done a “weekend recap” in so long I can’t even remember. But this one was great so I figured why not!?
Thursday night we went to my dads to watch the Addison fireworks show which is called Kaboom town! It was so fun to hang out with my dad and Andrew and some of my dads friends. His new condo has a great view of the fireworks.
I also took a great bar mathod class on Thursday afternoon.
Friday Day we relaxed and then I went and saw a movie with my mom. I really needed to stay out of the sun and heat this weekend so a movie was the perfect solution. Plus Dallas looked rainy all day. Mom and I went and saw Jersey Boys! It was SOOOOO GOOD! I really loved the music and the performances. I’ve seen the musical before and the movie did not disappoint.
After Jersey Boys, Andrew and I got ready and had a great dinner date. We went to The Ranch this AMAZING restaurant that we hadn’t been to since our 5th date. We told our waiter how we had one of our first dates there and now we are getting married and he thought it was pretty cool. After enjoying some truly amazing food of homemade onion rings, steak and mac and cheese for me and seafood pasta for Andrew with wine of course we headed home. But I had to get a good picture of us in our patriotic best.
Seriously love that guy!
We watched some fireworks from our place and went to sleep.
Saturday we had a great workout together which is always fun then I took one of my favorite epic weekend naps and started a new book. Right now I’m reading, After I do. It’s a book about a couple who take a one year break from their marriage. It’s really interesting and I highly recommend it!
Andrew made us a great dinner of Sesame Chicken and Rice and we started rewatching Breaking Bad. Such a great show.
Sunday was spent relaxing, doing laundry and cleaning out our second bedroom closet which has been on my to do list for months. It is seriously full of stuff and we really needed to clean it out. Now it is holding the wedding gifts we won’t use for a while like Crystal and China.
We finished the night with some delicious home made chicken sandwiches and sweet potato fries.
I honestly felt ready to take on the week.
This is why Holiday weekends should always be relaxing!
What did you do this weekend?
What a lovely weekend! Our church hosted a huge 4th of July event on Friday for the entire community. It was a lot of work, but we had a blast!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend! We went swimming, had a BBQ at my parents, made s’mores, had sparklers, and watched fireworks on the 4th. The rest of the weekend was a mixture of playing with my daughter and swimming.
That sounds like a fun weekend. I’ll have to see that movie, I love musicals! Congratulations on getting married!! When’s the big day? And I live near Dallas, so it’s nice to meet a new blogger friend 😀 and what did I do this weekend…hmmm? Oh, I watched some fireworks while getting bit by mosquitos, we stayed in and watched the movie Reasonable Doubt (a real nail-biter!), and went to church on Sunday. Have a great week!

Now that’s how you do a weekend! I am with you…weekends should always be relaxing. I love low key activities and days of just laying around. Kind of touh with a toddler but I still manage to relax. Congrats on your marriage.
Oh, how I miss relaxing! 🙂
My girls are precious and so much fun, but I remember laying around the house all day with a good book with fond memories.
