4 Game Day Essentials

We have always been a huge football family. My entire life I have loved the sport, and having people over for game days is one of my favorite things. In fact, Liam’s upcoming first birthday party is football themed! Today I am sharing 4 of my game day essentials for those of you thinking of having game day parties in the next few weeks!

4 Game Day Essentials

Food: First things first, if you have people over you have to have food! We are huge Tex Mex fans, so having chips, salsa, guac, nachos, Texas caviar, etc. are some of our favorites and huge crowd pleasers. One of my favorite ideas is a build your own burrito bowl station. Just have everything ready and do it buffet style. People can make their own bowls to enjoy with their drink of choice! You can find all these items at your local Walmart too! Make sure to grab some Bounty select-a-size super rolls to go along with that food! Way less mess to deal with!

Fun: For when those games get boring, or perhaps when your team is just not going to win, it’s always good to have a backup plan. Having a game on hand like What Do You Meme or something similar to break up the sadness of the losing team or of a game that may get delayed will keep your party going!

Environment: Your environment should feel clean, homey, and welcoming. I know with kids and people over it can be hard to keep everything completely spot free, but there are things you can do before people arrive to tidy up. With P&G essentials at Walmart, you’ll be all set! First things first: spray Febreze ONE EVERYWHERE. We do our furniture and carpets and just around the house. It smells SO good! We use the Febreze ONE Bamboo scent and it gives a very natural, not overpowering smell. Plus, if you have guests staying with you, it’s great for a guest room.

We are huge fans of the Swiffer, so the Swiffer Sweeper is perfect for cleaning up those kitchen messes and dirt that comes in by the door as people are coming and going. That way your house can continue to look great. Once everyone leaves, you can clean up your dishes with Dawn Dish Soap and know your dishes will come out looking brand spakin’ new!

And for Ibotta users, if you buy one of these products right now and use the app, you get $0.50 back. PLUS you can earn an extra $1 bonus back when you purchase and redeem 2 products at Walmart and use the Ibotta app.

Keep It Simple: Don’t stress yourself out with feeling like you have to do everything or invite everyone. I know for me I can want to make everything perfect, but sometimes simple is better so that you’re able to enjoy game day too!

I would love to know about some of your game day essentials. Who’s your favorite team?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of P&G at Walmart. The opinions and text are all mine.

Our favorite teams aren’t playing, so now the family is pulling for the Eagles. I love these tips. I use a lot of the products, and agree that keeping it simple is where it’s at!

Completely agree with all those food choices! We try to keep it simple over here too. We like to have an area close by, in everyone’s line of vision, for all the kids to play since most of them aren’t terribly interested in the game.

  9. I think I get into that problem, feeling like I have to do EVERYTHING and make it a true EVENT. It doesn’t need to be that way!

  12. Since I live in the town next to Gillette Stadium, I’m going to have to say I’m kinda a Patriots fan, but not a FAN. I don’t go nuts over them. I ask each of my kids what they want to eat for the game and we have everyone’s choice.

I’m coming over! It sounds like you’ve got a great day planned for the big game! I tend to go overboard on the food, but am trying to make it easy on myself this year. That way I can relax and enjoy the game.

I am expecting a whole full house of boys on Game day and I will be busy in the kitchen making food for the family and guests. My menu is usually simple but it has to be a lot! In a male dominant household, food (lots of it) is the top priority.

When you’re talking about gameday, you’re talking about European football, right?

Just kidding. Although I think your “soccer” would be better named as football… 🙂
