5 Best Apps for Productivity

I am a paper planner girl till I die. To me one of my favorite things is crossing items off a to do list, or looking at a perfectly written out planner. I’m sure it sounds silly but it’s honestly how I feel the most productive!

Over the past few years however I have also found I feel very productive because of a few apps I use on my phone. I wanted to share the 5 best apps for productivity with you today. I would love to also know what apps you use for productivity as well.

5BestApps

1. The Simplified App: I very rarely pay for apps but this is one that to me is completely worth the $4.99 price tag. I use the simplified planner which I have talked about ad nauseam. The app is an extension of the paper planner. I love the to do list part which lets you have TONS of different lists. I have one for blog post topics,  general weekly/daily/monthly to do lists, things I need at the grocery store etc. It also has areas to meal plan (which Andrew and I have done weekly for well over a year). The daily calendar part is probably what I use the least only because of another app I will be mentioning.

2. Get Human: How much do you hate when you have to call an airline, the bank, a credit card company etc and you sit on hold for what feels like hours? Well Andrew introduced me a while ago to the App, Get human which gives you the option to directly call a person(instead of hanging on for 48 prompts) or you can have them call you back! I love this option because I can go about my day and they can call me when my time in line comes up. BEST. IDEA. EVER!

3. Last Pass: Confession. Up until about a year and a half ago I used the same password for way too many websites. Not to mention a very BAD password. Last Pass is great because you remember ONE password and last pass holds all of your other passwords for you. Also it will generate passwords for you as well. It will also alert you if there has been a security breach to a major website which you have a password. It will give you a secure score so you can see how secure every password is as well as your account as a whole. It really makes productivity soar because you do not have to mess with that “forgot password” button all the time. You can also have the app on your phone, iPad, computer etc.

4. Google Drive/Google Calendar: Marrying someone who worked at google will give you a much larger appreciation for everything google has to offer. Andrew and I function with google drive and google calendar. If we are planning a trip we have a google drive sheet going with budgets, ideas, plans etc. For day to day we use google calendar for dates, events, parties, family dinners, weekly meal planning etc. I use google calendar on my own for my weekly meetings, pure barre classes, appointments etc. We also have important shared documents in google drive. I keep any blog contract, client contract etc there so if I need to access it is it right there for me. The possibilities really are endless. This truly is one of the best apps for productivity!

5. Workflow: This is a very new to me app but I am quickly starting to love it. You can customize your phone, avoid silly tasks and wasting time. I love that you can schedule your entire day, streamline your life completely. If you took 4 photos at a meeting or while out and about you can tweet it, Instagram it etc from the app. You can have your phone call lyft or uber while you are waiting to get to lunch reservation or meeting. The options are ENDLESS! It really can help your daily life tremendously. Worth the $2.99 price tag? YES!

What are your best apps for productivity? I would love to know!

  8. I could not function without Google Drive! It’s how I keep track of everything — my blog posts, my blog calendar, life notes/random writing projects, grocery lists. I haven’t caved and bought a Simplified Planner yet, but it’s tempting!

Definitely going to have to look into a couple of these! I have a billion different emails and different passwords for…all of them. ._. Not to mention all my accounts. It’s a wonder sometimes how I can still get into any of em’! x_x

I need to use Last Pass. I have 3 passwords that I switch up. It’s hard to remember them all. I also use everything Google. I know they’ll probably turn into Skynet eventually but why use something else when Google already has it – and it’s free? I use Google calendar and Drive all the time to save stuff.

  12. These. look. AWESOME. I’m downloading these now. Always love finding new apps to simplify life and help streamline the workflow! Also love Dashlane for password remembrance…it remembers them, classifies them, and can create mega-secure passwords for each of your sites that you save to the platform. It’s fantastic!
