5 Things

Happy Friday my friends! I am here to tell you that seriously as it gets hotter these weeks seem to drag!!

Andrew is leaving today to go to Denver for not even 24 hours. His brother just finished up his Residency there and he is flying to Denver to drive back to TX with his brother.

Today I wanted to share 5 Things I like doing while Andrew is gone

1. I fall asleep with the TV on: When Andrew is home we set a sleep timer but when he is away I love falling asleep watching old episodes of The Hills, a movie like Bride Wars or something he would never watch with me before bed. Its a small luxury I get.

2. Weekend Workouts: Usually on the weekends we go to the gym together but when he is gone I can head to bar method or body pump like I am this weekend with Sarah! While I love going to the gym with Andrew sometimes its fun to take in a weekend workout class. I know he wouldn’t mind if I went when he is in town but we so rarely get to go to the gym together that I like to enjoy that on weekends.

3. To Go Food: Andrew cooks us dinner almost every night. I am not so much the cook. So when he is gone I usually pick up something to go. Usually I hit up Whole Foods and grab something at the hot bar or their whole wheat pizza slices. Other times I will go to Eatzi’s. It’s fun to grab some to go food and curl up in our bed and watch a movie.

4. Marathons of House Hunters: Andrew is not the biggest HGTV fan but I love it. On Saturday mornings I love to make coffee and watch hours of House Hunters or Love it or List it. I mean sure he will stand one or two episodes with me if he’s on his computer but I will just hit play on a 5 hour block like its my job when he’s gone.

5. Half as many dishes: OK this may sound bad but its kind of nice to do half as many dishes. Enough said right?

Truth be told I hate when he’s gone. Sure the above things are fun for a day but Im glad he’s only gone for a day cause all the dishes and House Hunters aren’t as fun as spending time with him 🙂

  1. Your list sounds pretty similar to mine! When my husband is gone I like to watch girly TV, create, and take a break from cooking by eating frozen pizzas or macaroni and cheese.
I agree, though, that those things are only fun for a short while, and then I’m ready for him to come home!

Aww! That is so sweet! I usually read a good book & don’t cook when my Hubby is away. BTW: I love House Hunters too!

I love the HGTV shows! Hubby tends to prefer the Food Network shows rather than HGTV so I like to put on HGTV while I’m doing the dishes or cleaning the house or when he’s not home.

When he’s not around, I tend to still cook for myself, but eat more junky food like Ramen noodles!

When I’m home alone, definitely the TV is on some girly show like the Bachelorette or something off of ABC Family. 🙂 Up till all hours of the night and then fall asleep with the lights (and my glasses) still on. And lots of chocolate.

I LOVE House Hunters and Bride Wars. Nothing like comfort food and comfort TV. Right now, my SO watches them with me…but that might change in the future. 🙂 When we’re together we try to watch something we both love, which is easy to do, but there’s nothing like curling up with a good girlie movie or book.
