I love a fresh start, a new month, a new week. It all makes me happy. I am that person who LOVES Monday mornings. There’s just something about turning that calendar page to a new month that seems full of possibility. I have 6 things to do at the beginning of each month that will really help you start your month off on the best note so you can achieve all the things you want to.
6 Things To Do At The Beginning Of Each Month
Make monthly goals: I have been making goals at the beginning of each month for a few years and it has been a game-changer for me! I love seeing the things I want to accomplish written out and it really gives me something to work towards. I also think in general it’s a good idea to have goals to give you a drive for the month, day, week ahead.
Set your budget: Along with goals setting a budget is a great idea. I have a huge post on budgeting coming up so be on the lookout. But since most people know their fixed expenses, you can get a good idea of what your monthly budget should look like.
Clean out your car/purse: For me, this is more of a weekly thing (hello two kids). My kids’ snack in the car and between food, receipts, trash, etc the car just gets messy. Even with a trashcan in my car! So I vacuum it out weekly with this vacuum. This is THE BEST for car seats! I also like to clean out my purse of trash, receipts, and things I don’t need pretty often!
Restock all the things: I got sucked into a series of TikTok videos recently of people restocking stuff around their house. Oddly soothing. But I love restocking all the household products, Nespresso pods, snacks for the kids, etc. Just makes me feel like we have our ish together.
Make a workout plan: Kind of like making a budget, or setting your goals making a workout plan really tells you exactly what you are doing all month. If you are a strength person I highly suggest joining the hardcore on-the-floor Facebook group for Peloton. Someone makes a workout calendar for each month and you can follow it. It truly takes all of the thinking about of your workouts!
Meal plan: We tend to stick to the same handful of meals so meal planning for us is easy. But, if you meal plan for the entire month you are less likely to waste money and food! This is such a good strategy for lowering your grocery budget too!
