I don’t know about you guys but Sundays for me are all about getting my week off on the right foot!
I want to share with you my 5 ways to start your week off right. These things are a life saver for me and really make me feel ready to go Monday morning!
1. Clean it up: On Sundays I always do our laundry…all of it! Towels, sheets, and dishtowels included in that. It makes me feel good knowing that everything is clean and ready to go. I also make sure to run our dishwasher Sunday night no matter whats in there so all dishes are clean as well. We usually run it every other day but something about starting Monday off with the dishes done makes me happy. Aside from laundry and dishes I also like to make sure to back up my computer on Sundays, organize and clean out my purse(throw away receipts etc) and pick up around our townhouse. Lastly we change our sheets every Sunday morning. This is such a good way to get a good nights sleep Sunday night.
2. Get Organized: On Sundays I always make sure any and all appointments, dinners, lunches, meetings, calls etc are both written in my planner and have reminders set in my phone. I like to make sure I have them in two places. I don’t ALWAYS take my planner with me when I run errands so its good to see everything on my phone as well.
3. Meal Plan: This is actually done on Saturdays for the next week. Andrew grocery shops on Saturdays(I hate grocery stores) and so we plan all of our meals for the next week so we don’t spend excess money and so we don’t waste food. It’s also good for our pre wedding eating healthy thing we have going on. Almost all of our meals are very very healthy. We treat ourselves every now and then but meal planning really helps ensure we eat right and stay on track. Plus like I said its great for your budget!
4. Go Over Your Schedule: Before I get in bed Sunday nights I go over my schedule for the week. This helps me be mentally prepared for early mornings or late nights that might come up. I also like to know when I am going to have extra time with Andrew so I like to know what my week looks like. Nothing is worse than waking up and realizing you have a meeting in 30 minutes and feeling rushed. It starts the entire week off terrible! Going over my schedule really makes me feel ready!
5. Go to Sleep Early: Want to know the ultimate key to starting your week off right? Get plenty of sleep Sunday! That way you won’t be catching up all week. Once you get one bad nights sleep your whole week is messed up. Going to sleep early Sunday will make you feel rested all week!
So those are my 5 Ways to Start your week off right! I hope you let me know how you start your week off right too!!
Amen to going to sleep early! I absolutely cannot function if I don’t get enough sleep, and that is a terrible way to start the week. The rest of your tips are great, too. 🙂
Great tips!!!
I’m a morning person and I always go to bed early! Sunday’s are more my day of rest – after church, that is! My husband and I are pastors so Sundays are pretty full and for some strange reason I always think of Monday as the first day of the week; I guess because it’s the first day of the work week.
I always change the sheets on Saturday and make sure the house is all cleaned and sparkling and all the laundry is done.
I truly believe that failure to plan is a recipe for failure. I love starting my week with a fresh clean house (although it is never 100% clean). Great post, thanks for the tips.
I really need to work on the “meal plan” thing…
I should really start doing something like this. I keep saying I need more of a schedule to help my “flow” of the week go a little better. I end up doing everything in one day and I hate it!! Thanks for posting!
Yes, and YES! I do the exact same thing each Sunday, as well as make sure my bags are packed and clothes are laid out for the next day. Mike does the meal planning, but I pack my lunch and lay out breakfast items as well.
Great ideas. Doesn’t it make you want a 3 day weekend thou so you can enjoy Sunday? Lol
I think this post is perfect. If you start your week cluttered you’ll end frustrated & that sucks. Happy Monday!
I try getting to bed before 11, but most days it’s tough.
I used to be so good at this, and after reading this I am now motivated to get back into it! 🙂 Thanks for motivating me!
Sleep? What’s sleep?? 😉 I agree though, going to bed at a decent time is a great idea!! Now to work on that for the summer!
Love the cleaning tip. im Horrible at getting things cleaned up around the house !
What great ideas! I need to be better about looking at my weekly calendar on Sundays.
This is a good idea! I do the cleaning on Sundays so we’re pretty set for the rest of the week, but I need to get on doing the rest of the stuff. I always want to meal plan but I can never set myself up to do it.
I love to get everything clean on the weekend to start the week! I’m playing catch-up right now from 8 days out of town! Need to get things going!
I really do need to start going to sleep early.
Loves these ideas. I definitely plan on using these points in the new year! It’s my goal of next year to be more organized.
Helpful suggestions!
