Back in December I wrote a post about my 2016 Goals. Today it’s finally time for a 2016 goals progress report to check in and see how I’m doing.
2016 Goals Progress Report
My first goal this year was to read 75 books. I honestly think I can make this happen. I’ve read more than 40 so far, so I’m over halfway to my goal.
Next I wanted to stop focusing on the number on the scale. This I am for sure doing. I have an entire post about this coming up soon.
More date nights with Andrew: Yes this is going well. We’ve actually had quite a few spontaneous dates lately and it’s been great.
Write about things that scare me. This is a big fat fail. Hopefully I can work on this before the end of the year.
Continue to blog full time. Yes and yes. My income has gone up a lot from where it was last year and I have so many cool projects coming up!
Branch out. Yes and no. I have made new friends and done things out of my comfort zone, but truthfully I have days where my inner introvert wins and I just don’t want to be around people.
Travel. So all the trips we had planned got canceled for some reason or another that I can’t really get into now. We did however go on a cruise to the Bahamas and Virgin Islands in February. We are going to California in October and I am going to NYC in October. We also might try to squeeze in a trip to Chicago if we can.
Join our home offices: This is actually happening in the next month!
Cook more: yes and yes. Lots of cooking always happening here.
More time with friends: I think we are both doing better about making time for friends. I really am better with friends one on one, so it’s been nice to have friend time like that. We also have gone to a few friends houses for game nights and a few double dates coming up this month!
All in all I think so far I am doing ok with my 2016 goals progress. I mean I could always be doing better but I feel good about where I am at and I think it’s crazy that not too far from now I will be doing a 2017 goals post. WHAT!?
How are you doing with your 2016 Goals progress?
Aw, this is a wonderful idea for a blog post, i recently did my july goals hopefully at the end of them I can do something like this! So glad you’ve achieved so many! Congratulations on the blogging for full time and increase of income! Woo! Happy success! Also, i hope you have an amazing time when you go on your wonderful trips! So jealous haha!
But, i wish you all the best for your other goals to be achieved, you defiantly will! Write what scares you, it will be very interesting and I bet you will get such wonderful support!
Love your layout, theme, font just everything! x You go Girl!
I am trying to work on not being so focused on the number as well! I am doing better but I still get anxious and step on the scale a little too much.
Great idea for a blog post. Now I just need to establish my goals. My immdeiate goal is to establish my long, and short term goals,
Sounds like you have some great goals planned. Good luck with them all 🙂
ahh i also have too many goals for this year… hope to make them..crossed fingers… wonderful post…
I so wish I could blog full time (or at least make more from my blogging than I have been), but I am making progress and I have to take that for what it is and work on my strategy to get there. Would love any tips! 🙂
I try really hard to not focus on the number on the scale, too. It’s so hard! Good luck with the remaining part of the year – you can do it!
Great job with your goals! Good luck with the rest of the year!

Well done for everything you’ve achieved so far. I have no idea how many books I read in a year. It’s a fair amount but I don’t think it’s as many as you’re aiming for.
Great recap post! You have achieved so much! I have been trying to get myself to read more. I have been doing a good job with it this summer BUT I’m worried I won’t do as much when classes begin again in the fall (One more semester until I have my MASTERS!). I LOVE that you are working on not caring about the number on the scale. I strive to do that as well. Recently, I’ve been getting sort of obsessed with it due to being on medication that makes me retain water weight BUT I should be off that soon. Keep working toward not caring about the number and just feeling confident with what you see in the mirror! I always tell myself that most of the number on the scale comes from muscle, height, and water – not bad things! …well, some bad things but who wants to stress about that! Just love yourself for who you are. <3 Best wishes on completing your entire list by the end of 2016!
Great job! Maybe I should set some tangible goals for myself. I tend to just float along, not sure what’s working and what’s not, and often feeling overwhelmed because I’m trying to do a million things at once.
I love that you did a check in post! I only made 3 goals for 2016 but I feel like I need to go revisit that post because I can only remember one of them… And 2016 is more than half over!
You are rocking it! I will be lucky to read 5 books this year!
It sounds like you’re making amazing progress on your 2016 goals so far! That’s something to be so proud of! I should check in on my goals and see the progress I’ve made… Also, 75 books?! That’s an impressive goal! (I could never do that haha)
Well done! It’s great to use blogging for self growth. Accountability helps.
I am terrible at reading books. I currently have 3 half way read in my Goodreads shelf and I really need to get myself together! I just love reading the blogs I follow more since there’s always new content haha.
I’m quite like you, I love writing down all my goals, month by month. So far, am doing great with my goals this year too. I could improve on some aspects of my personal life- like meeting new friends, attend more blogger socials. Good luck on all of yours! 🙂
I’m so happy to see that you’ve been accomplishing your goals! I think I need to revisit my list for 2016 to check my progress as well!
So fun to see a 6 month update! I love goal posts and make my monthly goals too. Last year i had a goal of 52 books in 52 weeks and I read 62. I love your goal of branching out. I am an introvert and perfectly happy behind a computer 🙂 But I also long for more friends and interaction in real life.
You’ve done wonderfully! And I would consider a Caribbean cruise a nice little trip! Good work so far, can’t wait to see how you do in the next 6 months!

You’re doing pretty well keeping up with your goals! Good job 🙂

What a great way to stay accountable — bring the whole blog audience into the mix! ha ha. And 40 books? Lordy, that’s a lot of reading!
Keep it up! And YAY for more cooking! You are doing great!
Great job with your goal list! You are very inspirational. Seventy-five books is quite a lofty goal!! Wow! Lots of luck continue with these terrific goals!

I hope you get to travel some more! That’s awesome you’ve read so many books!
Great job meeting your goals. I hope you will be able to write about the hard things before the year is over with; I know it can be tough putting yourself out there.
You’ve read more than 40 books already this year?! WOW! That’s amazing! My goals for the year shifted mid-January when we found out that I was pregnant with twins LOL I’m kinda all over the place now LOL
Oh my goodness!!!! 75 books!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!! Also, I’ve been trying super hard to ignore the number on the scale. Can’t wait to read your post about that.
Congrats on your progress so far! I actually have met one of my goals for this year and it’s a big one! I was able ti finally quit working outside the home to focus on my little one and his speech needs.
Happy to hear it’s going well! Always glad to see people cooking more (and reading more and making more time for friends, ..)
I think you’re doing great with your goals so far! I feel like I’ve gotten nearly halfway but not as much as I would have liked with my own goals.
