I am nothing if not a creature of habit. I tend to eat very similar things every day, and do very similar routines every day. A few years ago, actually January 1st 2015 I made a promise to myself to do a few things every day no matter what. Today I am sharing with you what the 4 things I do daily are.

4 Things I Do Daily
1. Take A Vitamin: I have been an avid vitamin taker for years. I actually still take prenatal vitamins because I feel like the effects of them are amazing. I started taking prenatal about a year before we started trying to have a baby, and I plan to take them as long as I can. Taking a vitamin makes me feel like, no matter what, I am getting the nutrients my body needs. I also take an Omega 3 supplement as well.
2. Take Care Of My Skin: I feel like once I turned 30, skincare became a mandatory instead of just something that seemed like I should be doing. Lately I have been using the new Olay Total Effects Whips moisturizer, and the change up has been amazing for my skin. This product absorbs into my skin very quickly, which is great when I'm in a hurry because I don't have to let it dry and soak in before applying makeup. It's actually a great primer for makeup! It has a super unique formula, which is able to absorbs oils in your skin throughout the day, for a dewy (not oily) finish. I am not someone who wears a ton of makeup every day so this is also great to keep your skin looking really awake, and dewy and fresh without NEEDING makeup. I don't change up my routines a ton but I am really glad I did for this. It has 7 skin benefits: actively replenishes nourishing moisture, evens skin tone appearance, enhances brightness, visibly smooths fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes the look of pores, restores firmness + visibly reduces dark spots. Talk about a miracle product!

3. Get 10,000 Steps In: OK I will admit I get a little obsessive about this. When I was losing my baby weight, one of my big musts was 10K steps a day NO MATTER WHAT. So that means at night sometimes at 9 PM I am walking around the house for 20 minutes to finish the steps. Or I wake up early and go for a long walk etc. BUT, I get those 10K steps. I think it makes me happier, healthier, and a better me.
4. Stretch: I try to do deep stretches before bed each night. I work out almost every day, so stretching out my muscles, and back (from being on my laptop), neck, etc is very important. I hate waking up sore and this helps a ton. I have been very into yoga lately so that's been helping a ton too!
I feel like focusing on these small things daily that don't take a ton of my time really help me be a better person, wife, and mom because I am making sure to take care of myself.
What is something you do daily for yourself?

These are very important steps to take daily for sure! I wish I got 10,000 steps in too. Maybe that’ll be my (belated) new year’s resolution? 🙂

Love that you’re getting your 10,000 steps in by walking around the room for 20 minutes if you have to!
I love these four things you do everyday. Although Im only 17, I still make sure I have a skincare routine every single day! Recently I have been taking daily women’s health vitamins too! Loved this post! xx
Skincare is definitely something I do daily as well! I need to work on stretching every day though!
My FitBit makes me so obsessive about steps:)
Hot lemon ginger water and yoga stretches in the morning, plus a daily probiotic!
Those are great habits to keep every day. I really need to start taking a multivitamin every day. I BOUGHT some, but I never take them. You’ve strengthened my resolve! Thank you!
I really need to start taking vitamins! I’m so bad when it comes to that stuff lol. Great post 🙂
Love it! These are great, simple ways to take care of yourself! I turned 30 last year and have definitely been trying to pamper my skin more!
I just wrote a post regarding how moms need to take care of themeselves too. I love that this is along the same line and gives four simple things everyone can start with. Great read.
I love your dedication to the steps!!! I recently switched from a fitbit to an apple watch and my love of counting my steps has been reignited. 10K for the win!

Self care #1. Good for you! I, too, find daily stretching and yoga leads to better-feeling muscles and joints. Laptop work/blogging is so bad for those hunches shoulders and tight neck! It’s funny that the things we’re often blogging about (health, wellness) are actually made worse by the act of blogging haha!
Stretching is a must for me! As a former dancer, I find that if I stretch at night I feel better in the morning. If I cannot make it to yoga after work I’ll roll out my mat at home and get a few stretches in.
such a great post!

These are so simple yet so important. I need to get better about taking care of my skin especially in the winter when it so dry.
🙂
I’m working on getting 10,000 steps a day too.
I need to be better about stretching. I was doing that daily for quite a while and then I don’t know why but I just got out of the habit. One thing I definitely do every day though is journal 🙂
I’m so bad at self care. I almost always forget my vitamin, never lotion, and lately I’ve been slacking on my exercise and stretching. I used to be better. Thanks for the reminder to take better care of myself
That moisturizer sounds great, especially because I don’t often wear makeup either. I really should make getting 10k steps a day a priority, but it’s very rarely happened. LOL I guess I should start lower and work my way up or something.
I’m TRYING so hard to get in 10k steps everyday and I can’t say I’m great about it….if I get in a run that day, I usually hit it pretty easily. Otherwise, I’m trying to take long walks before or after work to make it happen but if I don’t get either of those in, it doesn’t happen. My job is so sedentary…I really need to work on that.
I try to read every day. It is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I started taking vitamins daily too. I think I need to start stretching, especially since I work at a computer all day.
Read my Bible and devotions daily and taking vitamins. I also take juice plus as well. I never get enough vegetables in my diet so Juice Plus helps.
I’m trying to get a workout in at least 5 days a week but this is a challenge right now.
I am so impressed about your 10,000 daily steps – that is great! I need to go on and get a Fitbit and start counting. I also am a big believer in skincare, and also in water. I keep a glass that holds 16 oz. on my desk and refill it during the day to make sure I get all the water I need daily.
This is great. I love that you are making time for these little self care tasks.
I am always working on making my skincare a priority. I try to take a few breaks a day at work to take mini walks so that I can ensure I get my steps in, it’s easy to fall behind if I don’t make it a priority daily.
I want to get into a more healthy routine and take better care of myself. Thanks for the inspiration.
Coffee is definitely a must in the morning for me lol
That olay stuff looks great!
These are great tips! I love the stretching before bed idea. I’m training for a triathlon, but sometimes I don’t stretch nearly enough. Before bed would be a wonderful time to do it.
As simple as these 4 things are it is so easy not to do it. My poor legs get so cramped up when I sleep I can have spasms while I sleep, stretching would really help.
Takin care of skin is so important specially in winter. Love the products you use!!
These are some great habits to have daily. They are all healthy and full of self-care.
I do these things daily as well!!! Taking care of your skin is so important! I wish I would have started when I was younger with all the skincare products
I really need to work on my steps!
