You guys! I am struggling. It is insanely hot and humid and that means when we go outside I get sweaty in about .03 seconds. It also means we can’t go outside NEARLY as much! I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t LOVE summer. So today I am sharing some of my summer struggles.
Summer Struggles
Sweaty Smelly Clothes: I try to take Liam for a walk every morning, yet it’s still blazing hot. So needless to say we are both pretty sweaty when we get back. Being Inside: As I mentioned above, we go for walks early because by 11 AM it’s just ridiculously hot. We have a covered patio so we can do water table activities and things under that but it’s still pretty stifling. So we’ve been inside more than I would like. I would LOVE any suggestions on activities for toddlers indoors. So far story times, indoor playgrounds, and little gym are our favorite activities.
Skin issues: Anyone else having crazy summer breakouts? I know it’s the heat but y’all my skin has been so weird this summer so far. It’s not even close to being over either. I have found a few face masks that seem to help and gentle sunscreens.
I know these aren’t the worst things in the world, but maybe like me summer isn’t your favorite time of year.

The major summer issue where I live is the ice cold air conditioning at the malls! I live in Hong Kong where it’s crazily humid and hot, so the malls like to put their aircons on full blast. I feel like summer here is colder than winter, crazy! 😨❄️
Summer heat or even summer storms are great for a few things, including tents made from sheets and tables and chairs. Plus you can take some large fans outside under the patio cover. If you put some ice blocks in front of the fan it will feel like cool air is hitting you….until the blocks melt 🙂
Oh gosh, summer can be so awful. I don’t do well in the heat, so I love to be in the pool, but otherwise? Kind of miserable. LOL I hope you find some more activities you can do inside!
We have a laundry overload as well! ODOR control and free and clear?! Brilliant!!! Our biggest struggle is bedtime right now. No one wants to sleep and watching 3 kids all day is exhausting.
In a male dominant household, I have to make sure my laundry detergent will get rid of sweaty smells and stains on clothes! I will have to to try All. Looks like this is going to make my laundry time more efficient.
I have recommended All Laundry detergent to my daughter for her kids’ clothes. Toddlers can make such a mess and can be a little stinky too. Haha. I think this is the best detergent we’ve ever used!
Totally relate. Summer means more laundry! No one wants to be in sweaty clothes for a long time so the basket really piles up quick. We use All Laundry Detergent because it really does a great job getting all the sweat and odors from our clothes!
My daughter and I go for a 5 mile run every morning and man am I absolutely disgusting by the time we get back. We live in San Diego and there’s zero shade the entire run. It’s like running in a desert. I immediately toss every article of clothing into the washer the moment we return home haha I’ll have to try this detergent!
I hear ya! Today was a bit of a struggle since it was sooo hot out! We wanted to spend the day outside but couldn’t decide what to do with the crazy heat (and not owning a pool!!).

We actually just ran out of detergent, and getting more is on my to-do list. I’ll have to consider All. I’ve liked it in the past.

My skin has been a mess too! What masks are you using that are helping you?
Make a rice or lentil box. It’s like a sand box, but without all the clean up. Toss in some measuring cups and spoons or boats and your good to go!

The kids’ clothes certainly do get sweatier and smellier during the summer. This is especially true when you have athletes like we do in our home.
