Best Mood Boosters

Can we all raise our hands if we somedays just get in a funk? Not that anything happened or didn’t happen, but somedays we just get in bad moods, or feel down. When this happens I try really hard to boost my mood and refocus. I wanted to share my best mood boosters with you guys, because don’t we all need a mood booster?

Best Mood Boosters

Best Mood Boosters

  • Go for a walk- this is key! Getting outside in fresh air always helps!
  • Listen to a podcast. It can be fun, educational, even scary (Serial), but listen to something that will distract you!
  • Bake! You can’t be in a bad mood around baked goods.
  • Call your parents! Whenever I feel down I call my mom or my dad. They always cheer me up
  • Have a date night: even something like sno cones or yogurt can make you feel better
  • Binge a show: new or old, sometimes just watching something fun can cheer you up
  • Dance around: cause how can you be sad when you’re dancing?
  • Write about it: sometimes writing it all down, no matter what it is will make it seem less like a big deal
  • Do something nice for someone: buy them a coffee, bring your neighbors some cookies, or even smile at someone. Not only will it make them feel great but it will make YOU feel great
  • Read: I know for me reading a book or a magazine usually cheers me up. Just decompressing
  • Pamper yourself: do a face mask, give yourself a pedicure, go get a mani/pedi just do something for yourself
  • Get together with friends: have a girls night or just hang with a good friend and have a glass of wine and chat
  • Go to a workout class: If going for a walk isn’t your thing, then go work out cause like Elle Woods said “exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy!”

Another one of my favorite mood boosters was a segment “7-Second Mood Booster” on Ellen! You can’t watch this and not laugh!

So next time you are having a bad day or feeling a bit off try one of the best mood boosters and see if it helps!

I would love to know what your best mood boosters are and how you cheer yourself up!

  25. Excellent list! When I need a mood boost I find myself wanting to write it all down and going for a walk. Also, grabbing a yummy beverage of some sort, mostly coffee 😉 When I’m at home, I have to dance or listen to something uplifting and it usually takes my mind off of things for a while 🙂

These are great mood boosters! Taking care of yourself is SO important! When I get frustrated I clean, its rather amusing to my husband. It is a mindless activity that de-stresses me though!

  29. First off, I am absolutely in love with your blog’s aesthetics!! 🙂 And my biggest mood booster is honestly fall weather. Being on my college campus this time of year automatically gives me a sense of serenity. So, between that and my favorite music, my crappy morning turns right around!

Generally when I am in a mood–I curl up with a book or sit in front of the computer and read one on my Kindle. There are occasions when I do write it all down. I have done that that several times in the last couple of weeks–you may have noticed them on my blog–but I generally just write them and don’t promote them at all.

Hahahaha loved the 7-second mood booster!! 🙂

It’s the little things that boost my mood, too. Starbucks (of course!), doing a crossword puzzle / reading, eating my favorite snack, baking, cuddling with the hubs while watching Netflix, etc!

    Thanks for the post!!
