So it’s coming up on the time of year where at least a few weekends a month there are weddings for us to attend. While I love going to weddings, it can be so stressful to have a ton at once! You want to feel and look your best but you don’t want to break the bank. If you are like me it seems like weddings come in waves and you spend a fortune between showers, gifts, bachelorette parties, and then just being a wedding guest. Here are some tips on how to get wedding ready without spending a ton!
How To Get Wedding Ready
Try a new workout: So something that always makes me feel good before attending ANY event is a good workout. The great thing about boutique studios is a lot of times they offer the first class free or VERY discounted, so theoretically you could go to 5 different studios one week and try 5 new workouts and do most if not all for free. Obviously this changes city to city, so you’d have to look on local studio websites to find out.
Up your fruits and veggies: Green smoothies and big salads are great ways to get more veggies and fruits into your diet. I make a smoothie every day with spinach, kale, berries, banana, and other fruits depending of the season, and I feel great after having one. I also love big salads. Lots of mixed greens, zucchini, carrots, celery, apples, grapes, strawberries, grilled chicken, yum! Upping your fruits and veggies before an event will make you feel so great. Plus that second piece of wedding cake won’t make you feel so guilty.
Take care of your skin: Having smooth silky skin is a must. Especially if you are wearing a short dress! Lately, I have been using the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. It’s made to use while your skin is still wet so you can even keep it in the shower and put it on right after you turn off the water. It really makes my skin silky soft, which is a great way for your skin to feel when you put on a fancy dress and head to a wedding. If you are in a wedding it’s great too because you’ll be in lots of photos and you’ll know your skin is at it’s best. It does not leave your skin feeling oily or sticky, just soft. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is specially formulated to work with water. It instantly absorbs on wet skin to take advantage of skin’s peak moisture moment (the time when skin is most receptive to moisture). It absorbs two times faster for 24-hour soft skin. A must for wedding season. Even beyond special occasions I just really love how luxurious my skin feels when I use Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer!
Dress on a budget: Having to buy wedding dresses, shoes, bags, etc for weddings can really add up. If you are attending lots of weddings back to back with the same group of people you don’t want to be wearing the same thing. Man guys really have it so easy with tuxes and suits, huh? I personally love places like where you can rent dresses and accessories! Great way to snag gorgeous gowns that you are only going to wear once. I have used these before and I got a Kate Spade dress that was originally $400 to rent for $55. PERFECT!
So there you have it. You can get wedding ready without spending a fortune and make sure your skin, body, and clothes are all set!

My friend uses the Jergens wet skin and loves it! I think after seeing two people love I will have to try it!
It is still wedding season and I have at least one more to attend. Great tips and advice for getting ready.
With any kind of luck–weddings are over for my friends–but I remember those days!!! You could not rent dresses back then-but I think that is a marvelous idea–the money you save could be put towards the presents you have to buy.
Definitely a good idea to keep up on your moisturizing skincare and eating healthy foods before a big event!
Definitely all about staying moisturized!
I love this lotion! It’s not too heavy and feels great on my sensitive skin.
Lovely tips! I’m always on the hunt for a new workout no matter what ☺️
Love your tips!! Very creative post.
I def want to check this out! i’ve heard great things about it!
I am one wedding next year and am attending two more! Great tips, I will try that moisturizer!
Great tips, Neely! I’ll certainly try the moisturizer.
Tell me about it! We have ONE friend who’s getting married this year and already we have 3 wedding-related events booked and have already spent $200 (not counting outfits). It can really add up. Working out is definitely a must – not only to look nice but also to burn all that food!
I made sure to get regular facials and mani/pedis a few months before so my face and nails were glowing on my wedding day!
It’s always good to get in shape before such a big day! Taking care of your skin for all of those pictures is a big part of that.
Great tips! Ever since having a baby I’ve struggled to keep my skin moisturized. I’ll check out this Jergens moisturizer!
I love that Jargons moisturizer it’s amazing!
Awesome tips! I love using sites like Rent the Runway to rent designer dresses for cheap for weddings.

Our wedding was super low budget and a super duper interesting story. I was only a mere two hours late.
Aww I wish I had read this last year for my wedding! Our first anniversary is coming up in less than a month so maybe we’ll do something special and I’ll do my prep work.
I love the drink green juice tip. That’s so true. If you want to look great on the outside you start from the inside. Thanks for sharing :))
Weddings are one of the most exciting events in our lives, and doing the ground work can save time, money and the possibility of disaster. Nice tips all around!
I definitely like to have clear skin and a great outfit! I hate going to big event like that in outfits I wear on a regular/semi-regular basis!
Such great suggestions! A good workout and a little pamper session can make you feel confident for any occasion!
