I feel like I see A LOT of gift guides for Mother’s Day out there and some of them do have things that I as a mom would personally want, but I polled 10 of my mom friends to find out what gifts moms really want for Mother’s Day and it’s not necessarily everything you’d expect!
Gifts Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day
Gifts Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day: Experiences
24-48 hours alone: So listen, I don’t know any mom that doesn’t need a break. Maybe you can’t swing 24 hours alone if not I highly suggest a day alone. I recently did a weekend alone for my birthday and 10/10 recommend.
Someone to clean the house: I think any mom would love to not have to clean their house!
More date nights/girls nights: I have been so much better about girls nights the past year but I know for so many its an afterthought. Date nights are also so important. We aren’t the best at getting them on the calendar but we have been trying much harder.
Shopping for themselves by themselves: So many of my friends said they wanted some new clothes but they also wanted to be able to go to the mall/stores ALONE to try on, look through things. Ah, the things we take for granted.
A day to watch trash TV alone: This kind of goes with the first thing I said about having alone time. Sometimes we just want to watch our trash TV alone. We all love Bluey but it gets old.
Gifts Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day: Stuff
At-home workout stuff: OK not everyone needs or wants a Peloton even though I can’t say enough great things but even a barre set, a new yoga mat, or a subscription to an at-home workout experience would be such great gifts!
Mugs that keep your coffee HOT: Pretty much every mom I know reheats her coffee several times before it’s actually gone. Personally, I love my Corkcicle mugs. They keep my coffee hot the entire time!
Nice bedding/towels: I find really nice bedding and towels to be such a life luxury! SO many mamas told me they’d love an upgrade to their bedding and towels. We love Boll and Branch and Brooklinen sheets!!
New fancy wine glasses: I love the wine glasses we have but I can’t help but lust for the Estelle wine glasses. They are just beautiful!
What is something YOU want for Mother’s Day….really?
Some lovely ideas, my mum loves things for the garden and visits to the local garden centres!
These are such great Mother’s Day ideas… I would absolutely love all of these!
I completely agree with someone to clean the house!! I just want someone to come do a deep clean once a month. I can keep up with the day-to-day myself. I do take a girls weekend at least once per year and go to Florida to visit my family and hang out with them. I actually just got back from that on Monday!
mugs that keep your coffee HOT! Yes!!!! I can’t tell you how many times I have had to pause my coffee drinking to do something for baby. This is a total must! haha
I needed to read this today. It’s hard to find the right gift for a mom who has it all. I usually have to go with a gift card. I am going to think more about these ideas though.
What I would love is simply a day off. Just not doing anything for a while. LOL
These are fantastic suggestions! I like the mug idea.
So many beautiful ideas that make me reflect not knowing what to give to mine!
Mothers day over here has already been and went but these are some top ideas for next year. Or even for birthdays. Or any time really, we shouldn’t really need a designated day to celebrate our mothers.
Someone to clean the house is my mom’s favorite thing I’ am really sure!
I know that my mom just wants painting supplies for Mother’s Day. She’s an artist who is finally honing her skills in retirement. It’s been so much fun to watch and getting her new supplies always encourages her! You’ve got great ideas on here for so many moms.
These all sound like such great Mother’s Day gifts! I’ll have to look about getting one of these for my own mum.
Now we’re talking! I need all these mother’s day gifts! Especially 24 hours alone! lol
Those are all great ideas and a selection of gifts for Mother’s Day. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Ooh these are all great ideas! I will say, my parents are empty nesters and she’s at a stage where she wants LESS alone time ha! Also, I think home workout materials are a great gift but should be gifted with caution as you don’t want to send the wrong message!
I think most mothers would want something so useful. Maybe kitchen equipment or house stuff. A dress would also be nice. 🙂
If I would have to receive a mother’s day gift. Probably it is a whole day of doing nothing or either pampering day for me! Being a mom is really a super tough job in the whole wide world.
