Having More Confidence

I’m partnering with #LISTERINE as part of a LISTERINE® sponsored series for Socialstars™

Having-More-Confidence

There are certain situations in life where you have to have more confidence and push yourself. I am not always a push yourself kind of person. I am a play it safe kinda gal. The kind of person who pays bills when she gets them, turns in library books on time, and never shoplifted gum as a kid. Sometimes I need help having more confidence. I know that’s true for everyone, but it is for sure true with me.

I wanted to share a few things that help me in having more confidence on those days that I just need an extra boost (which is most days).

Sweet Notes From My Husband: One thing Andrew and I constantly do for each other is leave each other notes in fun places. Sometimes we find them in shoes, coffee mugs, once I left Andrew a note in the fridge when I was leaving town. These little notes he leaves me however give me so much confidence and make me feel great about myself. Something like “you’re going to do great today” goes a long way.

Fresh Breath: LISTERINE® is a product we always have in our house. We are huge fans of the mouthwash and use it every day, twice a day. Having fresh breath is always something that gives me more confidence. Especially since I am a coffee drinker and we all know how that goes! Anytime I am feeling the need for a refresh I just swish some around in my mouth and I am good as new!

Staying On Top Of My To Do Lists: When I have everything done I just FEEL better. I feel more confident, more capable, and feel like I can really take on the world. That’s why I write things out for the next day every night that need to get done. Once those are checked off I just feel better.

Making Time For What Matters: Making time for important things like spending time with Andrew, exercising, eating healthy, and making sure daily work is done make me feel good about myself. When you are eating right and exercising you are feeling more confident. When you spend quality time with your spouse you feel more confident in your marriage and then in your life. It all works together.

What are things that help you in having more confidence?

I definitely don’t lack in that department. I think part of it is because I care about the way I look and that makes me feel good about myself.

  2. The better I look the more confidence I have but in some ways that’s sad because confidence should really be about what’s going on internally and not just about how you look.

Sweet little notes from my husband are definitely the best! Anytime I have a huge project coming up he always leaves little words of encouragement, which is so thoughtful and definitely gives me more confidence.

putting effort into my clothing and appearance makes me feel more confident. it’s easy for me to come last, with getting my two toddlers ready for the day, but when I take time to get myself ready I always feel better!

  11. The sweet notes thing is huge for me too. Smiling is another way I build my confidence. I think giving out compliments to other people help me feel better too. Making others feel better and more confident improves my own.

I used to leave random cards and notes for my husband. I need to do that again. (We’re also fans of Listerine. It’s the only brand my husband will use.)

  17. I have always lacked in the confidence department. As a child, I was sick a lot and didn’t feel like I was anything except average. That was until I got to college and I really found what made me feel good and happy about myself. The biggest booster to my confidence was starting my blog and setting out on a journey to find happiness in my life. I love this post about what makes you confident! I think it really does tie in very well with Listerine because there is almost a direct correlation between good hygiene and confidence. If you look good , you feel good right?

  18. Confidence is sexy but sometimes I just don’t feel it. It helps to have little things to boost your confidence. For me it’s having a deep conversation with my hubby, dressing myself up-even if i’m not leaving the house that day, listening to podcasts and turning up the music and just dancing.

  28. There are some aspects in my life that I can say I am extremely confident about. However, there are blah days that make me look at myself as shabby, ugly, fat, etc. etc. It is my husband who is the best morale booster! I am thankful I have him in my life.
