Thank you to buybuyBABY for partnering on this post!
Whenever I share gift guides that involve kids they are my most popular! Who knew that buying toys for kids would be so challenging! You want them to be fun but also educational. You don’t want them to be annoying to parents but you do want them to be interesting. I want to share my favorites today. A great holiday gift guide for babies and preschoolers. I have a one-year-old and an almost four-year-old so I feel like I know my stuff when it comes to toys!
Holiday Gift Guide: Babies and Preschoolers
So even though Charlotte was technically with us last Christmas she was only 4 weeks old. So this is really the first year she can enjoy it! We are so excited to celebrate it with her and that makes the shopping even more fun. I also get excited thinking about all the big firsts for her. We love going to look at lights, reading the night before Christmas, and in other years seeing Santa. But we still plan to make this year special.
Holiday Gift Guide: Babies – 2 Years Old
One of the first things I eyed for Charlotte was the Minnie Mouse ride on. She loves Liams ride-on toys but they’ve seen better days since most are 3 years old.
I have probably mentioned the Vtech sit to stand alphabet train at least 5 times on this blog. It is probably the greatest gift Liam has ever received. My dad got it for his first Christmas and he was 10 months old. 3 years later and he still plays with it and now Charlotte loves it too! This year we got it for my nephew. Another great Vtech toy is the touch and swipe phone! Both of my kids have one and they LOVE it! We also love the Vtech laptop! Liam used to grab it and tell us he was going to his office. Now Charlotte plays with it.
Play food is a big hit with everyone in this house and this learning resources set is really great for kids of all ages. The food is soft enough that babies can even chew on it.
I mentioned how much we love Fat Brain Toys and some of the ones we got for Charlotte this year are the Dimpl and the 6 piece suction cups! Their baby toys are seriously the best.
Books are a great gift for kids of all ages. One of our favorites is Oh My Oh My Dinosaurs. It’s such a cute book both of my kids have loved.
Holiday Gift Guide: 3 Years and Up
We love learning resources brand and the my first tools set is so great! Liam loves to follow Andrew around “fixing things.” We also really love the toy binoculars! I think it’s such a fun toy for kids to take around outside and to the park.
Liam’s big gift from my parents this year is a real ride on car. He saw one and has been talking about it for over 6 months. buy buy BABY has a great selection of them and this is the one we decided on.
Fat brain toys is a great brand that’s fun for kids and promote STEM. They make them for babies all the way up. One of the things we eyed for Liam is the Joinks! It’s essentially modern day tinker toys.
Bath toys are still a big hit in this house but the baby bath toys have lost their luster. This is such a cool idea if you have a kiddo who loves cars. Its tracks you put on the wall in the bathtub and little cars to drive around them. So cute and fun!
You really can’t go wrong with ANY Melissa and Doug toy. We have the mop/broom set and its a huge hit with both kids. We also love any of their kitchen stuff. Liam got this cake for his birthday last year and we have birthday cake a lot now haha! This little coffee maker and serve is so cute and if your kids are like mine they want to do what you do. I love it when Liam “makes me coffee.”
I also can’t say enough good things about the Kid Kraft vintage kitchen! We got ours from buybuyBABY about 2 years ago and it’s played with by both kids every single day!
buy buy BABY makes it so easy to holiday shop! They have toys for babies all the way up along with other great essentials. Plus with curbside pickup, you can order online and pick up your holiday gifts in 2 hours. It really makes it that much easier and less stressful! We always do our holiday shopping at buybuyBABY and this year celebrating Charlotte’s first real Christmas and Liams 4th is no different!
What are the kiddos in your life getting for Christmas?
These are great gift ideas!!! Love them!
So many cool toys for babies and toddlers! I miss that age, at least as it pertains to toys! I truly miss board books, so I’m thinking that is my favorite option in your list image 🙂
It sure has been a long time since I’ve needed to purchase gifts for babies or toddlers – since my nephews are 12 and 9 and I only have one friend who has a child. But WOW you’ve got so many great ideas here! It’s good to keep this in mind for the future, when other friends become mamas and I wanna give gifts to their kiddos!
how freaking cute is that kitchenette?! Our niece just turned two and we’re buying her one for christmas!
My boys are a bit older than your kiddos, but we had many of these toys when they were younger! This year, they are getting a few legos, some books (they LOVE to read), some board games (also a favorite in our house), and a Minecraft creators book.
Great list of gifts! It’s always nice to have a variety of gifts for toddlers, it just ones that make noise!
These are perfect suggestions for the little ones! My nephew will be 2 soon and I’ll be going shopping for him soon.
Aww, such a cute gift guide! I don’t really have any babies in my family but I’ll send this post along to my friends who have nieces and nephews in this age range!
These are such great suggestions! Our little guy loves his Dimpl and the Melissa and Doug broom. A play kitchen is on our list this year.
These are such cute ideas! I need to get some of these for my granddaughter.
Your list brought back memories of some the toys we got our kids when they were younger. It’s good to see that some of the companies are still around.
