If We Were On A Coffee Date…

My bloggy friend, Lisa wrote this post a while ago and I loved the idea so I am recreating it. Thanks Lisa for the fabulous idea! Also go check out her blog. She is honest and fun and has a cutie pie kiddo!

If we were on a coffee date…

If-We-Were-On-A--Coffee-Date

I would start by asking how you take your coffee. I get a nonfat latte with Splenda and light on the foam. I am one of those people you see at Starbucks that you hate because their drink order is complicated. Oh well. I like what I like.

I would ask what you think of the guy in the corner talking loudly as he reads the paper. The same guy is in here every single time I come. Something about him makes me smile probably because he is close to 80 and seems to really enjoy hanging out at the Starbucks.

I would wonder what you are currently reading. I am reading one of Tori Spelling’s books, Uncharted Territori. Sometimes I just need a ridiculous book. I kind of love her though. I love how honest and unapologetic she is. We should all be more like that.

I would ask the last time you did something truly for yourself. It is so important to take time for yourself everyday even if it’s simple like putting time into skincare or painting your nails.

I would ask what your main goal is for this year. I am a big goal person more so than resolutions, and I would say my main goal is to be genuinely happy. Not that I am unhappy but you get what I am saying. Of course you do!

I would be curious what your go to guilty pleasure is. Mine is watching old episodes of The Hills. It’s my comfort food.

I would also want to know what kind of current TV shows you are into? Right now I am all about The Bachelor, Bloodline, Casual, and the upcoming Survivor and Amazing Race. Are you more reality TV or drama or comedy?

I would tell you that I am beyond stressed right now getting ready for our trip this coming weekend. We will be gone for 8 days and that’s a LOT of time to be away. Are you stressing about anything?

I would ask if you are planning any upcoming vacations?

I would confess that while I love being a full time blogger, some days I do get lonely working from home. Other times I love the quiet but rare days I just need some conversation.

I would tell you that you are doing awesome. Trust me girl you are doing great in life, work, your marriage, just everything. You’ve got this.

I would tell you I hope the rest of your week is wonderful and this coffee date was just what I needed. I hope it was for you too!

If we were on a coffee date what would you tell me?

Such a great blog post idea! Love that it’s unique, creative and has a personal touch. 🙂

I would probably talk to you about things going on in my life right now. I’m sure my cats would make their way into the conversation – I can’t help it! Would ask you what you enjoy the most about blogging. So many things!

  2. This is really cool! If I were on a coffee date, I would be sipping my chai tea latte with 4 extra pumps of chai and chit chatting about travel and probably TV series like you! I loved Bloodline and I’m so ready for the next season.

I would order an iced caramel macchiato no mater the weather, tell you I am super jealous that you are a full time blogger because that is my ultimate goal and talk about my guilty pleasure TV show, Teen Mom. Love this post!

I love reading these types of posts!!! I’m watching the Bachelor right now too and I’m totally hooked. Ben is the BEST BACHELOR EVER and I’m sooooooo in love!!! Also, I have been blogging “full time” while on my winter break from my master’s program and I must say, even though it’s great and I LOVE it, it tends to get lonely. I wish I could get coffee with you in real life!! I feel like we have a lot in common. Plus I really love your blog.

I love this! I love getting to know people and I also would ask a lot of questions on a coffee date! I would tell you about wanting to go back to school this September, about the book I’m reading Better Than Before, about how I watch too much TV and am trying to cut back to get more work done.

    🙂

I love the idea of this post! It has me thinking about what I would say if I were on a coffee date. I may have to recreate this post as well. I would talk about how I hope to get accepted into graduate school for March. How I really wish I had more time to read but I never seem to find the time. My guilty tv pleasures are watching PLL, RHOBH (actually all the housewives I pretty much watch), Scandal, HTGAWM and lots more tv shows. I also wish I had more me time.

What a fun idea for a post! Sometimes I imagine what a conversation with people I observe in public places would be like. Sometimes you just really wonder about them! I haven’t reached the point of being lonely yet as a blogger, but I can see how that could happen! Being a Mom of three kids, I just love any alone time to blog!

  13. This is sooo adorable!!! I’m one of those complicated drink orderers too…but I used to work at Starbucks so creating drinks every single day … I kinda picked up on what I like hehe. If I were on a coffee date with you at Starucks, I would probably be distracted by observing all the Baristas and determining if they are following the rules. lol!

  15. This is the second time I’ve seen a post like this and I always love it! I love how they start right at the beginning, because I think there’s so much you can learn from people ordering and then, of course, throughout the rest of the coffee date.

I love this idea! Also, I love the note about the man who reads the newspaper and how he brings you a sense of joy every time you grab a coffee.

  19. I love this post! I too think people should be more unapologetic about who they are. I would have a caramel macchiato. I would probably bore you with talk about work, because I work all of the time!! I need some me time.

I love coffee date posts, I recently did a ‘If we were on a coffee date’ post too, the are so much fun! If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I suck at keeping up with reading books and that I need to get back to it. I would tell you all about ‘Suits’ and probably convince you to add that to your long list of TV shows 😉
