A King Sized Upgrade

This post is sponsored by Comforpedic iQ Mattress. I did receive a King Sized Mattress and Box Spring however all opinions are my own.

Andrew and I knew we wanted to upgrade to a King Size bed early on in our relationship. Let’s just say one of us(me) likes to sleep diagonal and push someone else(Andrew) completely to a small corner. I was thrilled when this opportunity presented itself because we had registered for King Sized Sheets and a Comforter for our wedding and had already received them. It was the perfect time to try out the Comforpedic iQ Mattress. I won’t lie we actually counted down the days till it was delivered and could not wait to make the bed and see how comfortable it was.

With our new sheets, comforter and bed we were set. We had purchased a head board and frame a week before and had it ready to go. We upgraded from a Queen bed that was comfortable but nothing really special to a bed that honestly I can’t wait to get into every single night. Last weekend I spent an entire day relaxing in it just because I could. I love the way it really molds to your body while still getting a good night sleep. I feel as though my sleep has not only improved at a VERY stressful time in my life but that the bed is such a better quality than any bed I have had in the past.

Some of my favorite things to do in the bed beyond general sleep are

1. Sprawling out and freaking out about how much room I have

2. Enjoying my iPad(book) and coffee when I’m feeling lazy and not wanting to do anything else

3. Curling up for a nap with my favorite blanket

4. General relaxing while watching TV

Another great feature is that if I am up during the night going over wedding stresses in my head and I get up or toss and turn Andrew won’t feel it. Same with him. If he wakes up earlier than I do or needs to get up in the night to get some water the bed doesn’t move on my end so neither of us are bothering the other. One more feature I am obsessed with is Only found in ComforPedic iQ, the revolutionary, patented Smart Response Technology features 16* internal chambers that naturally and continuously adapt to your body’s every position—all without motors, electronics, or searching for the “right number.” (Taken from the website for direct wording). Basically as we adapt to the bed it adapts to us. How could you not love that.

All and All our experience with this bed has been amazing. We hate to leave it in the mornings and can’t wait to get in bed at night just because it’s so comfy. Andrew jokes that now we are sleeping in different time zones and the extra room is super helpful. But also we love that it really is like sleeping on a giant comfy cloud.

Do you own a King Size Bed? If not you should check this one out.

Thank you for sending us this wonderful bed! We can’t get enough!!!

  5. I did own a king size; I recently downsized to a queen size. It was a grand bed and with 3 little ones it was nice (sometimes) to have room for everyone. I’m glad you are enjoying yours.

  6. We’ve had a king sized bed since a year after we married and I love it. Recently we purchased new mattresses but our dream is to have something like you described. Let’s say I look forward to upgrading in about 18 months.

  10. Since the babe arrived we have contemplated switching to a king. We know it won’t be long before we get littles all up in our sleepy bidness. I don’t generally like high tech mattresses as they confuse the F out of me, but this looks nice enough.

  16. We need a king size bed so badly! I wake up every morning with horrible back and joint pain and I know it has to do with sleeping cramped up in a queen bed to fit the two of us! A king is my dream!! One day!

There is nothing more heavenly than a comfortable bed. My husband is American, hence used to soft mattresses. I am European, hence the love of harder mattresses. When I was pregnant and I started having back issues, we took the plunge and got a Sleep Number. Man, that was the best investment! We have two separate mattresses, each with their own “number” (95 mine vs 35 hubby’s lol). Couldn’t be happier!

  27. we had been married mere weeks before we were blessed with a king-sized bed. a queen just wasn’t big enough for us. The king is wonderful for the size it gives, but we are talking about getting a new one because we both will wake up achy most mornings. We are absolutely checking this mattress set out when the time comes!

I’ve never had a king-size bed – I’m sleeping in a sofa bed for the foreseeable future, which is a bit smaller than I had at home – but that looks awesome.

My husband and I are both pretty small people, but we’ve had this double bed for the 9 years of our relationship and while I sleep perfectly fine anywhere, put me on a mountain cliff edge and I’m snoring in 15 minutes. He on the other hand is always twisting and turning during the night, getting little sleep and ruining the next day – he’s always exhausted. I’m trying to convince him that we need a MUCH bigger mattress.

  34. I have a king size bed at my parents house, but my BF and I have a Queen. I NEVER get to sleep in my King though as my Dad is incredibly old fashioned and won’t let me sleep in the same room as my bf until we’re married (we’ve been in an adult relationship for 2 years and I’ve lived away from home for 4 years!) Ben always gets my bed and I sleep with my sister in her room!

No fair – I’m jealous of the vastness of your bed. Seriously. It’s so big I’d need a compass to navigate!

King size is the way to be! We sleep so well. Both of us have had shoulder injuries, so spooning all night is not an option unless we want a cramped painful arm in the morning. King size rocks!

Yea, a king size is a MUST when you have little ones. Many nights both kids finds themselves in our beds. Thankfully, with a king size bed, we don’t notice it toooo much. I know for a fact, I won’t be able to go smaller after living in a king size bed.
