I haven’t done a Neely Lately post in a hot minute so I figured why not!?
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty standard!
Friday night Andrew and I just hung out and watched movies/TV. Saturday we got up and worked out at the gym, grocery shopped and then Andrew cooked an amazing steak dinner. Sunday, Andrew had to go to Houston for the day and I spent the day working out then seeing a movie with my mom.
We saw Ricki and the Flash and I had mixed hopes. I read review which weren’t amazing but the cast, director and writer have all won Oscars so I still had high hopes. We both loved it! It was really a good movie and Meryl Streep of course was awesome.
I decided about a week or so ago to reread the first four Emily Giffin books. I hadn’t read 3 of them since the first time I read them about 5 years ago and they did not disappoint. I think enough time had passed that I had forgotten a ton of the smaller details in the books. My favorite is Love the One You’re With.
It has been ungodly hot in Texas. Not normal summer hot but “feels like 113” almost daily. I saw this last night and had to share
I have been really into HGTV shows again. I took a break while we were house hunting because it stressed me out. It’s nice now to watch it and enjoy it again.
My crazy few months of travel starts next week. We are heading to South Carolina with Andrew’s family for 5 days. After that we go on our anniversary trip end of September, Houston for a bridal shower the week after, and Atlanta later that same week.
I joined a new gym which I am loving. It has some great classes and I am dying to try the water aerobics class. Sounds silly but it looks super fun.
I am loving seeing so many friends post their kids first day of school pictures because that means summer has to end somewhat soon. Have I mentioned I hate summer?
Wow, you will be traveling a lot! Yes, couldn’t agree more with the hate of Texas summers! I love EG and HGTV too! However, I do not care for the gym! Stacie xo
Yeah, it’s been ungodly hot here in GA, too! I made the mistake of traveling home to AL in June and I told my grandparents that I wouldn’t be back until November!
I’m a big fan of Emily Griffin and I loved “Love the One You’re With”, it’s a great read!
I have done water aerobics. You do look silly, but it’s a lot of fun. The one I went to I was the youngest person there by 30 years. I had a great time, and some of them were kicking my butt.
I don’t even know Lord of the Rings but that Meme made me laugh nonetheless! My weekend has been spent at the beach thus far for RA “training.” Cannot complain about that! haha!
My weekend was well. We tried a new cafe and it was the cutest, quaint location and I know I’ll go back again and again. It’s really hot here too so we’ve been indoors a lot.
Happy house hunting, I remember the stressors that come along with that. I’m eager to see your selection and decor.
That picture is hilarious, and I have to say, since I have friends who live in Texas, how much I am glad I don’t live there. The last time I had friends from Texas here at my house they were wearing hoodies and insulated jeans in August, lol. The rest of us were in shorts and tanks but they were freezing! Too hot for me!
That meme is SO FUNNY!!! So true. We have a heat advisory today until 7pm…Needless to say, I’m not going outside on my lunch break!

I’m so glad to hear a good review of Rikki and the Flash! No one I know has seen it yet and I just love Meryl Streep. I can’t believe TX is hotter than GA, now I’m extra glad we didn’t end up moving there!
Ha! I’m actually ready for Fall too. It’s not really even been that hot here, but I hate humidity. Sounds like a lot of fun travel. We took a short trip to Chicago with the kids, and that cured me of my travel bug for a while. 🙂
I feel ya! Georgia is hotter than Hades right now. I didn’t think it could get hotter, but then we visited Florida for a weekend trip. I want to try out water aerobics too!
Hey Neely! Love this idea for posts. It’s like cathing up over coffee 🙂 My weekend was pretty uneventful besides heat and humidty. I am a summer baby but I’m ready for a few sweaters and layers I think. I may regret that statement in few months but right now I just want to make it 5 steps without sweat dripping down my back.
Oh, man, I think I’d hate summer too if it felt like 113 everyday! We’re heading to Atlanta soon, too. But that trip will be the END of a crazy summer of traveling. Enjoy your next few months of travel!
