Summer Bucket List For Families

Summer is here! We are actually at the beach this week and Liam and I were talking about making a summer bucket list and I thought that it would be fun to also create a general summer bucket list for families! Most of these activities can be done in any city although some may be more specific.

Summer Bucket List For Families

Go to the beach: This may depend on where you live. People who live in coastal cities/states may have an easier time doing this!

Host a summer party: We always have people over on July 4th which is my favorite holiday! I love having last minute get togethers too! Doesn’t need to be fancy.

Attend a parade: Memorial Day and July 4th are times you can usually fine local parades.

Make your own popsicles/ice cream: Super fun and easy activity.

Play in the sprinklers: Again so easy and fun and will for sure take you back to childhood.

Have a lemonade stand: We haven’t done this yet but Liam is DYING to!

Have a family date night outside: We plan to take the kids to Klyde Warren Park which is a local Dallas spot that has live music, food trucks, restaurants, etc.

Go on a picnic: Again super easy!

Go on a family bike ride: Such a fun idea to stay active too!

Go swimming: We joined a local pool this year so we are excited for a summer of swimming .

Go to a drive in or dive in movie: I have always wanted to do this.

What is something you’d add to a summer bucket list for families??

I absolutely love the idea of hosting a summer party, it’s been on my bucket list for a while now (not counting family parties.) There’s something special about gathering with loved ones and celebrating together. And you’re right, it doesn’t have to be fancy! The best memories are often made in the simplest of moments.

I would love to go to a drive-in movie! Also, setting up sprinklers in the backyard would be fun. I haven’t tried that with my daughter yet.
