30 Things You Can Do In 5 Minutes Or Less

About 7 months ago I wrote a post about 25 things you could do in 10 minutes or less and I thought I would share 30 things you can do in 5 minutes or less for those of us who just get things done fast 😉  Life is busy. I know for me there are days that fly by and come 3 or 4 PM I need a break. Not a long break, but a short enough break that I am away from my computer or at least away from work for a few minutes. I still like to be productive somewhat, so here are 30 things you can do in 5 minutes or less and still feel somewhat productive.

30-things-you-can-do-in-5-minutes-or-less-o

  • Return emails
  • Meditate
  • Read a few pages in a book
  • Water plants
  • Change flower water/feed flowers
  • Make a smoothie
  • Windex some mirrors
  • Do some ab workouts
  • Tweeze your eyebrows
  • Put on some music and dance around
  • Go outside and check the mail
  • Watch a short YouTube video
  • Make a to do list for tomorrow
  • Go through an old blog post and update tags/categories/SEO (still kinda work)
  • Make some tea
  • Call your mom/dad/friend and say hi
  • Write a note to send to a friend
  • Clean your everyday jewelry
  • Clean up your nightstand/sink
  • Put things away that are out
  • Hang up clothes
  • Turn on the news and see what’s going on
  • Read theSkimm
  • Come up with a few blog post ideas
  • Go outside and walk around for 5 minutes
  • Put on a face mask (then take another 5 minutes later to wash it off)
  • Try a new lipstick out
  • Clean out the photos in your phone – delete crap you don’t need
  • Clean out a kitchen junk drawer
  • Eat a peanut butter cup (or your candy of choice) because YOU deserve it!

I hope you enjoyed these 30 things you can do in 5 minutes or less! I would love to know what things you would add to this list! I always need more ideas!

  2. I love these ideas! I’m all about finding productive things to do in a short period of time! In the morning, I set aside ten minutes to make my bed, make my daily to-do list (if I haven’t already done so from the previous night) straighten up anything that might look messy before work, and read The Skimm! I love having that little time each morning to get some productive things done!

  3. You have some interesting suggestions. I have been trying to take 10 minutes every morning to start the day with a clear mind. It probably only takes 5 but then I drink my coffee.

When I need a short break I just lie down on my bed and shut my eyes. I definitely feel rejuvenated after those 5 minutes.

haha Such fun ideas! But also totally true! I always forget that I can quickly reply to an email, but instead I usually think it’s going to take me forever and then build it up into something bigger when really it only takes a minute or two to respond.

  11. Great ideas! When I work from home 2 days a week, I always like to give myself a challenge to get something done super fast while waiting for my sweet potato to cook for lunch. So in 6 minutes I’m usually able to run around and do some pretty impressive cleaning!

    1. I can lie down with eyes closed and reflect on the day.
    2. I can clear the mess around my living area.
    3. Fold my laundry
    4. Read a blog and comment 😉
    5. Stand on my balcony and breathe in some fresh air 🙂

Great list! I feel like even more of a winner when I get things done really fast, so five minutes or less sounds like a win to me. Now I feel like a slacker for wasting time on the computer, when I could have knocked out like 15 things off this list by now! 😉

Some great tips! I especially love “Call your mom/dad/friend and say hi” because that brightens someone’s day, only calling my one friend definitely takes a lot more than 5 minutes 😀

I really need to take the 5 minutes to clean out the pictures on my phone! I’m sure the hundreds of pictures I have are slowing it down. Thanks for the quick list of ways to be more efficient with my time!

Great list! Although if you saw our kitchen junk drawer, it wouldn’t be on a list of things you can do in under 5 minutes haha unless, I took everything out of the drawer and just threw it in the trash.

  38. Tweezing my eyebrows is often something I do in five minutes. As a matter of fact, I carry tweezers in my purse exactly for that reason.

  41. If I have a few minutes, I browse through the front page of Imgur. But then those 5 minutes turn into an hour…and it’s not exactly productive…

  43. This is such a cute post idea! I personally would recommend applying a hand cream and letting it soak in-my hands get so dry throughout the day and whenever I sit down for a few minutes I always try to remember to apply hand cream!
