I think finding the joy in life can be hard sometimes. Things get busy and you think you can only find joy in the big moments or big things. But finding joy in the small things, the everyday things is what really matters. That’s why I want to start doing posts more often about things bringing me joy. Big or small!

8 Things Bringing Me Joy
Going for daily walks: Several months ago I started daily walking outside. I have always loved walks but I really try to do it EVERY DAY and I feel so much better when I do. I especially prefer to do my walks outside. I have my walking pad and I don’t mind if I need to do that too but I love to walk outside.
Settling into our new home: We have been in our house for about 2 months now. Our kitchen has been finished for a month and we have really been able to settle in. We’ve ordered some furniture, purchased a few pieces of art and it’s really coming together.
1:1 time with friends: With the slower pace of summer I have been able to spend a little more time with friends and I feel like my cup gets full when I have that 1:1 time. I love a group hang but really being able to talk one on one is the best.
Pretty glassware: In our new kitchen area we have a huge bar. The top part is all clear glass storage and I have finally been able to display our china, and serving pieces. I have a ton of really pretty glassware too and it’s been fun to be on the hunt for more.
Reading good books: I have been on a kick of all really good books. It’s been a while since I’ve read a dud. A big part of that is our Podcast. Connecting with so many people who love the romance genre and so many authors has been amazing.
Seeing my kids at the beach: We just got back from the beach and while my kids had been to the beach a few times before this was the first time I felt like they REALLY got into it! Liam basically had to be pulled out of the water. Charlotte loved collecting shells.
Painted nails: I always have my nails painted but in the summer it’s so fun to do more fun polish on my toes. I’m pretty standard with my nails all year but my toes are where I have more fun! Also, I’ve been painting Charlotte’s and she loves it!
Summer drinks: It’s spritz season! It’s also seltzer season and I love the summer drinks! On a nonalcoholic front, I have been getting my peach green tea lemonade iced at Starbucks more and it’s so good!
What is something bringing you joy right now?

Great list. Summer drinks while having one on one time with my friends would bring me lots of joy!
I love that you highlighted finding joy in the small things. It’s such a great reminder to focus on everyday happiness. I also enjoy mani/pedi in summer!
seeing kids at the beach is a huge joy for me also! SO sweet!
Nnniiccceeeee….it is meditation, my evening walks and fooding doing the most for me, these days. I don’t go a day without them.
I have found that starting my day with some sort of physical activity (In my case I go for a brisk walk like you!) sets the tone for the rest of my day. If I do it, I have some pep in my step and feel motivated to get stuff done. If I don’t, I’m slow and tired and unmotivated all day.
1:1 time with friends is something I deeply miss. We’ve all grown up, gotten married and moved on with our lives. While we do see each other, it’s seldom! I can’t wait to get that 1:1 time with my mates soon!
Congrats on getting settled in. I’m glad you are loving your new place.
I really love walking too. Like you, I try to do them daily when possible.
Daily walks are great. Its hard to be consistent but if its bringing you joy it should make it easier.
One thing that brings me joy is seeing karma in action. My favourite story is that bitch and her husband who maliciously bashed a poor photographer over $125 that was clearly stated as an extra charge in their wedding photography contract.
They didn’t want to pay it because they’re cheap assholes, so instead of just not getting the extra item, they go on social media AND major news networks to bash the poor woman. They knew what they were doing, but wanted the attention because they’re despicable, attention-seeking whores.
Fortunately, the photographer successfully sued and won when the jury found the twats guilty of malicious slander and defemation. So the flaccid cunts had to pay one million dollars to the photographer.
I still relish in that story and it brings me so much joy to this day.
We get so catch up with life sometime we forget to enjoy the “little” things in life and usually it’s these little things that brings us the most joy.
