Rabbit, Rabbit! Happy April fools day friends. I love April. Mainly because it is Andrew and my birthday month! My birthday is Sunday and Andrew’s is Monday. We have lots of fun birthday plans this weekend, but first I have to share my April Goals with you guys. I like doing this to keep myself accountable and also a good check in each month and throughout the year. But first lets see how I did in March…
In March I wanted to…
- Read 8 books. Hopefully I can do this: I read 7 books. SO CLOSE! I talked about One True Loves here and about Wellth here. So check out those reviews.
- Have 5 posts per week on the blog. I am really ahead on this so it shouldn’t be a problem: Yes and yes! Lots of great posts this month!
- Try to find time in this SUPER busy month of events, showers, and birthdays to have time for just Andrew and myself. We found great time together at home watching new TV shows and movies and even though we’ve been busy on the weekends going to the gym and to run errands together has been great.
- Organize our linen closet. Nope. This did not happen! But I got better at folding sheets, so baby steps.
- Continue to spend less money and save more. Yes and yes! Great month spending less on wants!
- Have a second article published on the Huffington Post. Second and third articles published. Check and check!
- Not eat any take out or to go food the entire month. Possibly hard with 2 family birthdays so those days probably won’t count but mainly during the week. Yeah fail. We got takeout a bunch. Oh well. Maybe next time….
What I want to do in April….
- Read 8 books. I swear one of these months I will read 8 books.
- Spend more time outside going for walks and jogs.
- Submit writings to new publications I’ve wanted to write for.
- Write one personal blog post.
- Have non-birthday date nights with Andrew, at least 2!
- Spend less time on my phone at night.
- Care less about what people think. Can’t we all work on this?
- Cut myself some slack when I need to.
What are your April Goals? I would love to hear!

My April goals include getting up earlier and sticking to a schedule. I used to think that structure stressed me out, but now I see it’s necessary for maximizing my productivity. In the end, I feel better when I’ve accomplished everything I set out to do. I guess if that means tightening up my day by creating a detailed schedule, I’m down! Have a great month. And 8 books? You’re a machine!
8 books?! Wow! Get it girl! I’d love to do that but they’d have to be pretty short…
Man, 8 books in one month? Does that include children’s books? 🙂 I haven’t picked up a good book in so long and really need to get back on it. Definitely great goals, especially spending less time on the phone and caring what others think. I’ve made it a point to be more present with my little ones instead of checking my phone every 10 minutes. Such a hard and bad habit to break. I’d love to take things outside before we get our crazy heatwaves and hopefully make it to the beach at least once.

These goals rocks ! I definitely want to spend less and read more I feel accomplished if I read one !!! Good luck happy April
We’ve been making an effort to not be on our phones in the evening and it’s been really nice! That’s awesome you read 7 books in a month!
Yay for Huffington! I’ve had 3 published so far and I would love to publish a 4th!!
I always had a tough time not caring what people think! Then I had my son. That is a time when everyone tells you what your doing wrong and now I don’t give a sh*t. People will always talk. People will always tell you what you do wrong. Don’t take it to heart.
Love your goal list! I always write down mine for the month too and it really helps me focus on the things I need and want to get done! I really want to finish my blog redesign this month! I am also plan on reading the books that I have piled on my bookshelf that I haven’t gotten a chance to read 🙂
Congrats on getting 2 posts on Huffington! That’s amazing! And I love your list for April. I’d like to spend less time on my phone at night, too. 🙂
Careless what people think. I have become very satisfied spending time with myself. I still have plenty of friends to do things with but have backed off of the negative people in my life. Hope you get your 8 books read.
So I’m having a baby this month. In just over 2 weeks, actually. I think my goals are to adapt as well as we can as a family of 4, rest often and before the baby arrives, prepare as many freezer meals as possible. So much to accomplish! In terms of my blog, I want to schedule out several posts so it’s not crickets for a couple of weeks. 🙂
I wish I had time to read 8 books in a month! I am lucky if I can finish 1 with the way my life is currently. Kudos to you for cutting back on spending! That isn’t an easy task to accomplish!
Cut yourself some slack might be the most important one. We are so hard on ourselves all the time. Especially us writers and bloggers since we fell the need to keep up and post, post, post! I have found that when I allow myself a moment of grace, my writing improves and isn’t so rushed!
great goals! i never sit and write out goals for a month but what a great idea! I need more date nights too, but we will start with a goal of one and work from there!
Wow, you seriously rocked it this month on your goals! I really need to dedicate a day to just focus on writing blog content so I can get ahead! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
I’m so busy with my blog, caretaking, babysitting my grandson and running another business that there is no possible way I could read 8 books in a month. If on vacation, sure no problem, but not in a month.
Great goals girl!
I love your goals! You are amazing to read 7 books a month, that’s definitely always a goal of mine — to read more! Good luck this month girl! XO -Kim

Congrats on accomplishing your goals last month! I always have a goal of reading but I never actually accomplish it. I start reading books and then get too busy to finish them. I have like 3 books I started reading. Whoops. I guess I will finish them one day. Date nights are a must. I have also been trying to spend less time on my phone at night and be more connected with my boyfriend. Good luck on your goals this month!
April is my birth month too 🙂 Spending more time outside is a great goal. And wow more than 5 posts a week ,way to go!
OOH I’d love for you to link this post up to my #GratitudeGoals linky.
Wow! Eight books is a lot. I’m lucky to finish 1 book per month. I think it’s great that you’re going to start submitting work to publications. That’s something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. Best of luck with your goals!
Great goals!! I’m so impressed with your ability to read so many books, AND post so many blog posts, AND have a life outside all of it!!
Such great goals you have set for this month! I love reading others goals! You have definitely inspired me to readjust my list! Also, loving your book selection! I may have to pick up a couple of those!
Happy Friday, sweet friend!
I love your goals. I agree with cutting back on phone at night..I feel like I am always working. Also, yes, we all should care less about what others think! Thank you for sharing, Neely!
What a neat idea to post your monthly goals to hold yourself accountable, I love it! I am a huge reader as well but 8 books in a month? My hat goes off to you! Good luck, you did 7 this month so I am sure you can do 8 for the month of April. I also love that you want to post 5 blog posts a week, that is such an awesome goal! Good luck for the month of April.
8 books is tough, but you can do it! I want to get out and start walking/jogging more too!
You did a great job in March! Way to go on the Huff Post articles! My husband’s birthday is on Wednesday, but I want us to get in a non-birthday date night too. We’ll cross are fingers on this one because it’s a busy month. Best of luck on all your goals!
Great job on your goals! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up more so we can get outside.
Way to rock your writing, girl! I really want to do some freelance writing this month!
I love reading other peoples’ goals for the month. I keep saying that I will be posting my own, but I’m not very good at that. I have yearly goals though! 🙂 Also, I’m impressed that you are posting to your blog 5 days a week. I was doing 7 days a week for a few months and it was good, but I felt like my content wasn’t as strong. Of course, now I have barely any time so that makes a difference. How do you keep up?
Wow, these are some GREAT GOALS and congrats on the Huff Po features–that’s amazing! Also I really need to up my blog post frequency; I’ve been doing okay with three posts/week, but if I could just schedule them ahead of time it would relieve so much from my plate (not to mention last minute THE HELL AM I GOING TO WRITE ABOUT TODAY thoughts, LOL).
Have a great birthday weekend 🙂
I really like the writing a personal blog post and submitting writing to publications you’ve wanted to be a part of. Good luck to you!
Great goals. I would love to read more books for sure. Guess I need to put down my phone and start picking up a book. Thanks for sharing.
Love these goals!! I need to set down and set some goals for the month of April to work on.
Reading more is definitely one of my April goals.
Happy early birthday to the two of you! Cool that your birthdays are so close together! And I wish you the best in submitting articles for publication, I know that road very well!
Great goals, I have about 5 books that I am reading now. So much fun
my goal for April, actually this weekend is to organize my closet and try to implement wardrobe capsule because I’m so sick of unwanted things…and have nothing to wear.
Have a happy birthday tomorrow! I am a April baby too. My goal this month is to walk and jog more, I am doing my first 10K Feb 2017!
8 books! I feel accomplished if I can read 1! Happy early birthday!
I love the beginning of the month and reading everyone’s goals! I’m currently working on my own April Goals to post next week. Hope you finally achieve that reading goal!
I love the goals you made- great job on 7 books this month!! Good luck on 8 books this month. My book goals have been like “read 4” haha. I have been working on spending less time with my phone at night too!
Happy birthday to you and your son, you have such a good goals this April, so glad you shared it and I enjoyed it.
I sure can keep learning from not caring what people think or who’s staring or judging you…. I need me some of that! And I commend you on writing SUCH a great post- you did a great job on it. Really makes me think of what my goals are gonna be this month and for the next upcoming months too!
I’ve been wanting to read more books lately too. I have always been an avid reader but have found myself not having enough time to read as much as I would like to due to motherhood and my career.
But, but… those boots! I love them – 🙂 But back to the goals, I need to get back on my reading – I haven’t made it to the library book club in a while!
Great goals! I love seeing what everyone sees for their goals!
8 books? Whoa! I am impressed! Yay for non-birthday date nights <3
Girl, I applaud you for being able to read that many books in a month haha I’m happy if I can get myself to sit down and read ONE. This month I want to read three and that’s stretching it. Good luck on your goals for this month! 🙂
Yay for reading 8 books! (Or at least intending to.) Also, I hope you and Andrew had AWESOME birthdays. <3
