Happy (Almost) April! Hard to believe another month has gone by. Somedays with a new baby I feel like the days drag on and other times they go way too fast. My birthday is Monday and Andrew’s is Tuesday, so lots of celebrating this weekend! But first I wanted to share my April goals with you guys and reflect on what I accomplished in March.
April Goals
In March I wanted to….
- Try to go for a walk every single day with the baby (weather permitting). Everyday that we had good weather we went for at least one walk. Worst case scenario to get my steps in I have walked around our house while he naps. Yep.
- Do some light workouts once I feel up to it. Yes I could finally start working out this past week so I have been working out every day. Before that I walked, and carried a baby up and down stairs all day long which is quite the workout itself. Plus he’s nearly 11 lbs so I feel like I do weight work all day LOL.
- Eat healthy and not eat any fast food or crap. Yep! I actually have been doing Weight Watchers for about 5 weeks and I am loving it. Fruits and veggies are 0 points, so I eat tons all day long.
- Read one book. Hey I have a new baby, one book would be awesome. Yes I did read a book. 1.5 actually!
- Try to not be as high strung. Eh I mean I did ok. I am a naturally high strung person.
- Let the things I can’t control go as much as possible. Yes. There is so much I can’t control having a new baby. I feel like I’ve done a good job of this.
- Keep up with thank you notes as things come in. Yep. I have them all done! We keep getting the cutest gifts for Liam. Kid has SO many clothes!
- Get birth announcements ordered, and mailed. Done and done! Everyone loved them and I am beyond thrilled with how they turned out! Post coming soon!!
In April I want to….
- Cook more, maybe try a few new weight watchers friendly meals.
- Keep up with workouts, walks, and Weight Watchers (all the w’s!)
- Write at least two blog posts a week. I have all my posts scheduled till mid-June and I would love to stay ahead.
- Have at least one date night with Andrew sans baby
- Start attending barre classes at least twice a week
- Try to get Liam on more of a schedule
- Start planning our summer trips (so behind!)
- Figure out a Father’s Day gift for Andrew
- Read two books
What are your April goals?
Congratulations on your Weight Watchers program! It’s nice to hear that you are easing into healthy eating. You’ve done so well this March overall.

So many people are starting weight watchers this April! I have never tried it but I have heard tons of success stories!! Good luck with all your April goals!
I like the idea of a monthly to do list as opposed to the one list of goals and resolutions I normally have. Think I’ll pinch this idea thanks! Oh, and good luck xx
I love your ambitious goals! And you’re so much more likely to do things when you write them down (and tell people about them!). Good for you.
Congrats on the baby. I haven’t been to your blog in awhile! These sound like great goals. I’m thinking of walking a mile every day in April…but I may be just thinking about it!
I love these goals! I really need to do this more often!
I love that you are writing down your goals. I need to do this and tell my kids to write them down too. They are old enough to have a plan too.
Great goals 🙂 I’m so glad WW is going well. Are you doing the e-tools only or are you going to weekly meetings?
Sounds like you’re doing awesome! I am probably the least organized person I know. lol Good for you for succeeding in your March goals. For April, I think my main goal is to sit down and schedule out blog posts, at least couple of months out. I am sooo bad at this!
That’s a pretty impressive list of goals accomplished! My youngest is just over two, and I’m embarrassed to say how few books I’ve read since she came along. Congratulations on all the hard work and the new baby, mama!
You are really on top of your goals! I feel like I just *wrote* my March goals… not to say anything about completing them…
I love how you set goals every month. I really should give that a try. My “unofficial” goals have been to: 1. Write more. Check!
and 2. Wake up before my husband leaves for work and walk around the neighborhood. Check! (I’m especially proud of this one because it is STILL dark out when I have to walk and I am NOT a morning person! 🙂
It’s great that you accomplished a lot of what you set out to do. I think changing up diet habits can be pretty difficult sometimes.
That is SO amazing that you have so many blog posts scheduled until Mid-June! Good for you! I need to get on top of that!
It sounds like you did great with most of your March goals! And I totally understand being high-strung.
I want to make more time for exercise in April. I normally fit in several days per week, but lately, I’ve been lucky to get one or two in.
You have posts scheduled till mid-June? Wow. That’s great! I love that you are able to do so much even with a baby to care for. Wishing you all the best this April and I hope you get to reach and exceed the goals you set for yourself.
Love your goals for the month! I’m trying hard to get back on track for April because the end of March was a little bad for me in comparison to other months, haha!
I will join you in the goals of reading one book and not feeling as high strung. Here is to an easier and brighter April!
I love this!! I am getting better at monthly goals and this inspires me more!
What a great idea to do monthly goals so that you can easily keep track of them! In April I really want to get outside more and start inviting people over to our house for meals and get over my fear of cooking for people 😉
Congrats on meeting your March goals!
You completely rocked your March goals, congratulations! I imagine you are going to just as well in April. I definitely need to work on eating healthier in April. March wasn’t the most kind to me ha ha.
Wow, girl! You were very productive in March and have fantastic goals for April. I’m so glad I came across this because #1 it’s been a while since I’ve had time to read blog posts and I missed your stuff AND #2 I TOTALLY forgot that I need to make my April Goals to publish ASAP. So I thank you and my readers (hopefully) thank you. 😛
Best of luck on all your goals! I have faith you will accomplish them all!

You rocked March!!! Looks like some great goals for April. Excited to see what summer trip plans you make!
I can totally relate to letting go of what you can’t control. That’s a true life lesson there!
Congrats! I am sure you will smash your April goals! x
Good job getting your goals done! Letting go of control is so hard for me… Good luck with your April goals, I bet you will smash them!
Good luck with your April goals! You got this!
It really is very important to set monthly goals that are realistic to achieve. Your goal setting abilities are phenomenal! I think I need to start doing something like this really very soon.
Awesome goals, Neely! You’ve got this.
I took so many walks when Phoenix was a newborn. It helped keep my sanity when he spent much of the day crying. 😉
I would like to do some light workouts too. I was just telling my husband I want to try beginner’s yoga.
Great goals! I love that you doubled it to two books for April! As for me, one of my April goals will be to save up as much as possible for the future months’ vacation expenses!
Girl, don’t worry about being high strung. That just happens. It happens to all of us moms with new babies! Hang in there! You’re doing great!
I really enjoyed reading this post. It has inspired me to work on monthly goals as well as the weekly and yearly goals I have set for myself. Keep up with these great posts and thank you for some more ideas.
