I haven’t written about my current fitness routine in a while, so I figured I would update you guys. A lot of people asked what my current fitness routine was and what I was doing at the gym each day!
I try to do cardio six days a week. Usually Sunday is a rest day for me, but sometimes If I do not have a lot of blog work to do I will go to the gym on Sundays. My gym opens at 11 on Sundays, and honestly I am a morning workout person so even 11 is pushing it.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday for me looks like this: Get to the gym around 7:45 AM. After putting my things in my locker I head to the treadmill and do 10 minutes at a high incline walking. Then I do 20 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes on the bike. Then it’s an arm day. I do biceps, triceps, lats, back, and shoulders. I also do about 10 minutes of ab work. I also do about 10 minutes of stretching on the mats and work with a foam roller.
Tuesday/Thursdays: I do the same cardio and then it’s leg day. I do quad work, squats, hamstrings, stationary lunges, band work on the basketball court, walking lunges. Then I do more stretching. On these days I do my ab work in between the elliptical and bike to mix it up.
I work out with a trainer a few times a month, so on those days I come early and do about 30-40 minutes of cardio before our session. He runs me through the wringer of crazy difficult exercises that the next day I am for sure feeling!
Saturday mornings I have been trying to make it to the gyms 8 AM yoga class every week. Honestly I love yoga for times in my life where I am feeling super stressed out. It’s a great way to center yourself. My gym also has a ton of classes from Zumba, to barre, kickboxing, TRX, tons of water classes in the summer etc. I really love the water aerobics class in the summer. Do not judge me it’s fun! I try to sneak in at least one barre type class a week if I can.
I do like the freedom that comes with a full gym membership being able to do normal gym work as well as classes. So the gym I am going to is perfect for this. Their amenities are TOP NOTCH! I am obsessed with the outdoor pool in the summer for swimming laps. Lap swimming is my favorite form of exercise and it’s the best as far as a strain on your body.
So this is my current fitness routine and a sneak peak at what I’ll be doing when it warms up a bit!
I would love to hear what you are doing to stay fit. Tell me in the comments below!!
Also I have teamed up with an awesome group of bloggers to bring you a giveaway for $70 to Starbucks! That should keep you in warm, yummy drinks for a while!!
That sounds like a tough workout!
I have just been walking the mall (not to shop, but to walk).
I am limited on what I can do during the day because I am a nanny.
So I just do whatever she will enjoy too.
There is a gym right down the road from our house. It just has weights, treadmill and elyptical, but that is still better than nothing. We keep saying we will get a membership, but that hasn’t happened yet.
I work out 6 days a week too. Although being a mom does throw a monkey wrench into it at times I do things at home on those days. I have been known to do squats while cooking or some other leg exercise. But I do feel a ton better when I’m consistent.
Perfect timing – after a few months hiatus, I am trying to get back into a fitness routine and it has been a challenge. Glad I have this post as a guide going forward. Thanks for sharing.
My favorite way to exercise is yoga. I’ll mix in cardio and light weights but I always feel the best about my body when yoga is happening regularly.
I was working out but I have too much stuff to get done. Hopefully once I get things caught up I can add back in exercising.
It sounds like you workout at a lifetime fitness location! I also have a membership there and it’s the best gym I’ve ever been to. Their amenities are wonderful and I love the classes that you can participate it, and especially love that they aren’t an extra cost. 🙂
My current fitness routine involves chasing my two young children all around every day!
Wondering if I could afford a trainer to help and keep me motivated.
Sounds like a great routine. I do something similar and run for 3 of my cardio days. Love your blog design too. Super cute!
I need to get back into working out. Great motivational read!
Love that routine! I am a fan of cardio before lifting, as well! There are so many great treadmill routines on pinterest and my running coach has given me a lot too, so that is usually my go to!! Thanks for sharing.
This makes me miss having a full gym membership!
I workout six days a week too! I mostly do strength training and one day of cardio. I love having a full membership too! I love that I have the option to do my regular workout routine, but switch it up and attend a class when I get bored or want to try something new. Great post!
Good job girl! I am trying to work on cardio every 5 days a week, right now I’m between three to four times a week and it’s not working out the best for me. Keep up the good work .
That is sounds like a awesome routine! Going to a gym has its’s benefits however, I am one who loves having the comfort of my own gym at home. That way I can schedule in my workouts without leaving the house. Yes, this does have its pros’ and cons’..
Love it! My insurance actually has a fitness reimbursement (up to a certain $ per month as long as you go x times) and so I’ve been thinking about breaking outside of my apartment’s fitness center for something else. I was hoping for a yoga studio but the closest is 20 minutes or so away so I don’t think I’d go enough…but I definitely miss having the real gym with so many options (and SPACE) ha!
So awesome girl, you are Killing it! I workout 4-5x/week + teach HIIT classes 2x/week. I love everything active: biking, hiking, running, HIIT, yoga, barre + I try to mix it up each week.
I’m currently trying to up my “lifting game” again so that I can tone + tighten for a possible spring break opportunity.
Would LOVE to connect. xx
I love reading about people’s workout routines! I have an issue with my foot (I was born with clubfoot) so I need to low impact as much as possible, otherwise it can really bother my foot. I do a lot of dance workouts, because there are a good amount that don’t bother the foot too much, although some are so much fun that even if it is higher impact I do it every once in awhile anyway. 🙂
I agree with you on taking the full gym membership. I’m gonna rejoin my gym from the 1st of February! x

wow thats awesome! Im currently trying to incorporate a 7 day workout as well even though my schedule is already so hectic! Keep it up!
You had me at “It Starts With Coffee” Seriously! What a great workout, you mix things up too I love that! We support active women just like you in our #weeklywrap link up and we’d love to have you link up posts just like this. I too go to a personal trainer except I try for twice a week at my gym. I try and get cardio in by running 3-4 times a week as well. Hope you’ll think about the link up have a great week Neely! 🙂
Yoga is one of my favorites — but I need to work in some cardio, too.
Love Starbucks! I’m in!
Sounds like a great routine! I’ve been doing the T25 workout at home about 5-6 days a week! I miss going to the gym but I haven’t been able to fit it back into my schedule just yet since my gym doesn’t have daycare for my kiddos!
I am a fitness junkie, but I do all my workouts from home! I love this! I try to incorporate yoga in my daily routine, but sometimes it’s harder said than done. I love your blog – such an inspiration to me as a newbie blogger 🙂
Wow girl!!! You go! My fitness routine is chasing after a toddler, it’s surprisingly very affective!
What’s your number one motivation to work out? I am currently injured and can’t really workout which is the worst.
I had a gym membership last year and would love to get back into it, but for right now I’m doing the 30 Day Shred. I skipped yesterday because work was crazy busy but I try to do it every day if I can. It’s hard to get back into it but so rewarding too!
I’m so glad you joined #AuthenticFitness! You should sign up for an accountability partner too, I think that’ll be a fun addition to the group.
Wow girly, You are killin it at the gym! What are you fitness goals?
I’m trying to workout about 4 hours a week right now. This AM I did 3 miles on the treadmill and then did a 30 min PLIYO class. I don’t think it was a great idea to do 3 miles and then a PLIYO class … according to my FitBit my heart rate was over 180 for quite some time! Hahah
I love your idea of having a trainer to push you to your max and switch up your routines every now and then!
BTW … I would love to be apart of your next blogger giveaway!
My routine is normally to do cardio every day and alternate upper and lower body strength training. I could probably benefit from a trainer too though.
Love your routine! I really wish there was a gym in my town that offered classes. I really need to start working out, but I have such a hard time holding myself accountable.
Sounds like a busy routine. I suck at exercise rountines and staying motivated so I’ve been slowly trying to ease my way into a healthier life starting by meditating & waking up earlier. Next month I’m going to work on those 30 day challenges and see how I do. Hopefully eventually I can get to the point you are. 🙂
I’d give props to anyonee who can make the time and have motivation to work out. I’m pretty petite already with a floppy tummy but made with the illusion of a flat tummy from my clothes. ahahaha. Good luck to those who participated in the giveaway!
Joua To The Rescue
I miss working out, but I walk three times a week. This is a fab giveaway.
You have a great workout routine! It’s so hard for me to do cardio because I get so bored while running/walking/biking but I love lifting weights!
That sounds like a pretty intense workout. I need to step my routine up a notch.
What a great workout routine.
I try to work out at least 3 times a week but can’t always seem to fit it in.
xoxo, Jenny
This is wonderful, I am so glad you have a current fitness routine. I need to get back into the swing of having a fitness routine!
I love fitness and working out. Our schedules seem like they’re almost identical. B
I love working out myself. I normally go for a swim every morning and then running after dinner! I then go to the gym on the weekends with friends and just work on lifting 🙂
I would be interested in getting a gym membership, but my husband and I are moving around so much right now that it would be more beneficial to wait until we settle somewhere.
My husband and I are doing P90X3. Saves us the time and money of actually joining a gym, and we love this whole concept of muscle confusion. With P90X3 we’re doing something different everyday and it’s more motivating for us that way. 🙂
What a great routine! You are an inspiration, I really need to do more exercise, I need motivating! Kaz 🙂
Sounds like you have a great routine! I love our gym membership too. I usually take the classes because I get bored on the machines. I mix it up between cardio and strength ones, and try to do them at least 4 times a week. Plus, I take a dance class Monday nights.
I love this post so much. I am a retired athlete, mostly due to injury and I miss the days of being a “gym rat.”
Now, I mostly do yoga, which I love.. but it doesn’t have the same feeling of being just wrecked after a good workout! Hot yoga has been a godsend, as that’s the closest I’ve gotten to that feeling. Thank you for sharing!!
Oooo sounds like a great routine you have going on!!! I need to start working out again. I’ve been slacking lately.
Great routine. Good luck!
Great fitness routine, you seem like you are super motivated!
That is really inspiring. I keep trying to make a routine and stick to it. But, my motivation lately has just been really low so it kinda sucks. This post definitely gave me a ton of motivation, so thank you so so much!
I like that you really mix up your routine to keep it interesting and make your body think.
You’re super inspiring! I really want to get back into regularly exercising again. I’ve been trying to start with focusing on 30 minutes of yoga Mon-Fri and then increasing from there. Perfect for loosening up my muscles and focusing my mind. 🙂
