Does it freak anyone else out that it’s already holiday season? I mean once Halloween is over it’s time to break out your red cups, put on the holiday music, and light those cinnamon candles. It’s also time to stress about how to pay for all the gifts, parties, clothes, and events. Fear not you guys, I have rounded up my favorite easy ways to make extra holiday cash! Stress no more!

Easy Ways To Make Extra Holiday Cash
Tip 1 Take it to Coinstar: We keep spare change in a container and every now and then take it to a Coinstar kiosk to cash it in. It’s a great way to take that extra change you pile up in your car or in a jar at home and turn it into cash you can use. It really adds up quick. Just think if you put all the change in there all year and cash it in around this time how much holiday money you will have? The green Coinstar kiosks make it easy for consumers to turn coins into cash and/or no fee eGift Cards to retailers like Amazon, Starbucks, Toys R Us/Babies R Us, Home Depot and more – or donate to a charity. So if you don’t want to get cash, you can always get a gift card to gift someone or to use somewhere you need to buy holiday gifts! WIN!
Tip 2 Clean out your closet: If there are two things I love it’s cleaning and making extra money. I am not someone who gets attached to clothes. I don’t hold on to that dress or those jeans in hopes they will fit. Although I’m still upset I didn’t keep my leather jacket from high school. Anyways. Cleaning out your closet can be a great way to make extra cash. Especially if you have on trend items that either don’t fit or you don’t love. Take them to a resale shop or sell them on resale websites or Facebook yardsale groups.
Tip 3 Unused Gift Cards: We get random gift cards from time to time I know we will never use. It’s either a store we don’t shop at or a restaurant we don’t like and they just sit in a drawer collecting dust. Well, the bright yellow Coinstar Exchange kiosks offer instant cash for those unwanted gift cards. The kiosks are located in grocery stores in major U.S. cities and accept gift cards from more than 150 retailers.
Tip 4 Make Homemade Gifts: Not so much a way to make extra cash unless you’re extra crafty and want to open an Etsy shop, but making homemade gifts is a great way to SAVE money. One thing I love to do is bake things for friends and neighbors. You can wrap them up in a nice package and the thought means more than a material item ever will.
Tip 5 Cash Out: If you have cash just sitting in PayPal or Venmo the holidays are a great time to cash out! I know I forget to cash out my Venmo sometimes and it’s always a great surprise to see I have money in it!

I concur with number one. Look for those coins in your car, couch or anywhere you spend like 1 hr of your life in a day. Informative post
Ahh! Unused gift cards is the best idea. I have so many that I never use.
I didn’t know that Coinstar takes unwanted/unused gift cards. Great to know!
Unused gift cards is the perfect way to pick up some Christmas gifts! We still have some left from our wedding (in March) and I think that’s a great plan! Thanks for reminding me! 🙂

In my church we have what we call a bottle drive. This helps with our weekly food handouts. Families store lose change in 500ml bottles and once they are full, they donate them to the church. A full bottle makes about $60. I gather one can use the same method to save for the holidays.
Don’t forget about all the places hiring for the holidays! A few hours per week can add up rather quickly!
Great suggestions! I had forgotten about Coinstar, but that is an easy one that works anytime.

Cashing out those coin jars is such a great idea. I think we often forget they’re there! I’m also a big fan of sites like Swagbucks where you can take a couple surveys, watch a few videos, or make purchases that help earn you points that turn into cash. It’s not much but even an extra $25/month can be impactful this time of year!
Homemade gifts are some of my favorite things to make for people. I love creating something I know they will use or like, and it’s so fun to pour myself into what I’m making them.

I love making homemade gifts! They are so much more personal and always provide great memories . There is something special when you pull out that homemade gifts months/years later. I end up crying when I pull out a homemade gift. It actually happened to me yesterday as I was cleaning. The gift brought a huge smile to my face and tears to my eyes. Great post!

I probably could’ve make some holiday cash with all the stuff we let go of during our move. However, I just didn’t have the time. I will probably try to sell some of the stuff that made it to the new house that I end up not keeping.
I have never quite been able to get onboard with the saying extra cash. Like extra cheesecake – there’s no such thing. 😉

De-cluttering and selling on E-bay or local Facebook pages has provided me with quick cash. Also, I managed to find some gift cards which I could sell on. I also like cash back websites whilst I am doing my shopping 🙂
