June Goals

It would be just fantastic if time could slow down just a smidge! The year is almost half over! I feel like I was just celebrating Thanksgiving! It’s time for my monthly goals. I have really loved doing this, and it’s something I hope to continue in years to come. I plan to have a post up this summer with a mid-year(ish) check in of my 2016 goals as well. But for now I will just list out my June goals and check in on what I did or didn’t accomplish in May.

June-Goals-o

In May I wanted to:

  1. Read eight books. Let’s keep it going! I did read eight books! I have lots of reviews coming up!
  2. Try a new workout. Bonus if it’s an in the water workout! This did not happen, but I did spend a lot of time at the gym.
  3. Do something nice for a stranger. I held the door open for someone every single time I could and I bought two people their coffee.
  4. Surprise Andrew with something. I surprised him with carrot cake (his favorite) one day. No reason, just really knew he loved it so I picked some up for him to have after dinner one night.
  5. Keep flowers alive for more than 10 days. This is really wishful thinking. Guys the key to this is spider flowers. They are very low maintenance.
  6. Cook something new to me. This might have been in April, but I made a new to me oatmeal cookie recipe!
  7. Eat more veggies, less crap. Yes I did this for sure! Andrew started a vegetable garden this year and we have been enjoying bell peppers, squash, and zucchini. I also stuff my green smoothies full of veggies! We did go out to eat a few times this month but as far as crap goes I think I did pretty well.
  8. Continue to focus more on needs, less wants. This was a good month for less wants. I got a few things that may seem like wants, but they were more like these shorts are ratty and I need new ones kind of purchases.

In June I want to:

  1. Read eight books! Can I do this every month? Time will tell!
  2. Spend more time with friends one-on-one
  3. Surprise my dad with something for Father’s Day
  4. Plan a trip for later in the year
  5. Organize a few closets upstairs
  6. Go to my gym’s barre class at least once or twice
  7. Workout six times a week
  8. Cook one new meal or bake one new thing

I would love to know what some of your June Goals are! Tell me below or leave a link to a post where you listed them! They are some of my favorite posts to read.

  8. Good luck with your June goals! I’m impressed you can read 8 books a month! Instead of doing monthly goals, I made a list of 16 things I want to accomplish in 2016 (http://adultingdaily.com/16-things-in-2016/) Hoping to stay on track in June!

Great job on accomplishing most of your goals for last month. I wish I could read 8 books in a month. Honestly I don’t know when I would have time. Ugh. I also feel that this year has seriously flown by. Where has it gone? I need to reorganize my closets and do some more purging. I love barre classes. Such an amazing work out! Good luck with your goals this month! Can’t wait to see what you accomplish!

  12. Wow! What an amazing accomplishment to read 8 books in one month and do it again the next month. I need to make reading more of a priority. A majority of my goals are blog based – increasing readers/social media followers/etc.

Your June goals are inspiring me – especially your workout goals! I’ve been working out but it’s usually 4-5 mornings. Another one of my goals is to keep hydrated with lots and lots of water! I always do good a few days and then fall off track.

  27. I was working out six days a week but injured myself in October. After six months, I recovered long enough to get back into the habit and then had arthritis flare up that lasted a month. Now, I am finding it hard to work out four days a week. I’m already reaching for that goal.

When you said one of your goals was to surprise your dad with something for Father’s Day, that reminded me that I want to surprise him with something too! I’m 11 weeks pregnant today, so Father’s Day is when I’m telling him he’s gonna be a grandpop for Christmas. I can’t wait to see what his reaction will be!
