Tips To Feeling Great During The Summer

During the summer months, as it gets hotter and hotter we start to feel more sluggish, lazy, and generally not great. I know for me there are certain things I can do to really make myself feel better. I want to share with you guys tips for feeling great during the summer months so that you can enjoy them!

Tips To Feeling Great During The Summer

Tip 1 Get Moving: There is nothing better you can do for yourself than getting a little bit of exercise. I know that sometimes when it’s beyond hot outside the idea of exercise is the last thing you want to think about. Even an activity like swimming or water aerobics is an amazing exercise. Swimming is one of the least strenuous exercises for your body. Even if it’s 20-30 minutes a day, just move around. If you find yourself laying on the couch for too long, get up and do 25 jumping jacks. If you are bored search YouTube for exercises or go on Pinterest and find a few at home no equipment workouts to do. The options are endless! Even a 20 minute walk around your neighborhood before it gets too hot would be good!

Tip 2 Drink Water: The most common sense and yet the hardest to do. For some of us drinking water is easy. I personally love water. Aside from coffee, it’s really the only thing I drink. You should be having 8-10 glasses of water a day. My biggest tip is to just carry it with you everywhere. I know when I have a tumbler or bottle in my hand I am always drinking it!

Tip 3 Take Care Of Yourself: I know for me I tend to always get a cold during the summer. This is absolute worst. Who wants to have a cold when its 100 degrees outside? Whenever I feel a twinge of a sore throat or a few too many daily sneezes I reach into my purse for Ricola Original Drops. These have been a favorite of mine for years and never disappoint! They always soothe my throat and allergies. Ricola’s secret blend of ten Swiss herbs can give your throat an extra drop of soothing relief. That’s because every Ricola drop has their Swiss Herb blend that goes to work to quickly and naturally relieve an itchy throat and cough caused by allergies.

Tip 4 Get Rest: Go to bed earlier! I know that it’s summer and it stays lighter later and you want to go to all the happy hours and do all the fun things. But it’s going to catch up with you! It is going to kick your butt sideways if you do not get enough sleep. Sleep controls everything. If we do not get enough sleep, we aren’t alert for work, driving our cars, we aren’t as happy, it hurts our moods, it’s just a bad situation. I really try to get in bed by 9:00 PM every night. I read for a bit, Andrew and I watch some TV and then I go to sleep. Knowing I can get 8 hours of sleep always makes me happy!

These are just a few tips to feeling great during the summer, but I promise they will help so much. They are also so easy to follow!

I would love to hear some of your tips to feeling great during the summer!

Thank you for the tips! I try to exercise first thing in the morning, otherwise it just won’t happen. I usually drink plenty of water too and recently came across LaCroix sparkling water! So good! I feel like I am having a treat at night now.

Sometimes I can’t get enough rest at night (too much to do and my mind won’t shut off). To counter balance only getting 6 hours of sleep at night, I try to add meditation and relaxation techniques during the day. I do wish that my company believed in allowing people to take power naps as studies have show 15 minutes of sleep during the day recharges your body.

Great tips! It’s so important to move around even if it’s for a short period of time. Water is pretty much all I drink with a few exceptions. I love water! Sleep of course is something I can’t be without. I love sleeping!

  22. My summer is my “catch-up” time (I’m a middle school teacher). I have a hard time balancing my time and activities in the summer. I’m either losing days binge-watching Netflix or trying to cram 15 projects into one week. To help me stay balanced, I pick one project a week and don’t allow myself any laziness until that project is done.
