Surprise! We’re Moving! Not far (more on that below) but we are moving into a new house. We closed on Friday and move next week! The story is kind of wild and we are so excited about this and all the projects to come! Also, today is my 39th birthday so definitely a great birthday present!
We’re Moving!
So let’s back up a bit. When we purchased our house in 2019 things were a bit different. We had one child and Andrew did not work from home full-time. We had also downsized to move into Dallas out of the suburbs to a much more expensive house in a more ideal location. Well 2020 happened and now Andrew works from home full time and we have two growing kids. Still buying a new house wasn’t really on our radar. We always said we would wait until Charlotte was done with preschool.
Well, things happen. A friend of mine in our same neighborhood shared that they were selling their house and asked me to spread the word. I asked for the details and when she told me I was like “ummm I want to see your house!” Andrew was not sold. I did get him to go look at it that day and the wheels started turning. We went back the next day with the kids (the owner’s son is one of Liam’s friends) and we all fell in love with it. We decided to go for it! We got our house ready and our house went under contract 6 days later before even hitting the market!
It’s been smooth sailing since then! We closed on our house 2 weeks ago and our new house last Friday. We also are leasing our house back for a few weeks while we have a little painting done at the new house. We are also completely renovating our kitchen. It’s the original kitchen and needs a little love. Plus a few other small projects. Then a few more down the line.
The house is about 900 square feet bigger with one additional bedroom/office space and another bathroom. So definitely more room and a better layout. We are so excited to be staying in our neighborhood (just moving about half a mile) and the same schools.
This was a big unexpected move but we are so happy to be buying a home from friends and happy a new family will love our house as much as we have.
There will definitely be more house content coming up!

Ah, moving. Honestly one of the most stressful experiences of my life thus far. I dread the day we decide to up and move!

Ooohhhhh….this is lovely to know. The unexpected things that happen in life, turn out to be really good, I must say. I will be on the lookout for the updates.
I wish you many happy years in the next house. We moved two years ago when I was 30 weeks pregnant. Our closing date is December 23rd! What a fun Christmas.

Moving is quite a task and often takes so much pre planning and then post recovery. I hope you get through it all soon.
