5 Ways To Make The Most Of The State Fair Of Texas + Giveaway

Every year in October the best thing ever happens. No, not pumpkin spice lattes, or cooler temps, or blanket scarves – but The State Fair of Texas! I had the opportunity to attend for probably the 50th time in my life, but this year I got to partner with AT&T GoPhone to enjoy the fair, try out the GoPhone, and if you read till the end of this post, you may get to win one! But first I want to share 5 ways to make the most out of The State Fair Of Texas should you get to go sometime!

5 Ways To Make The Most Of The State Fair Of Texas

Go early: This can mean two things early in the State Fair season or early in the day. I personally love to go first thing in the morning no matter which day I go. I do this for a few reasons. For one it’s cooler out so you aren’t a sweaty mess. Secondly, you can get GREAT parking because once you have your fun, that trek back to the car seems like a marathon. Lastly, if you go early in the season you can always go back again!

Plan It Out: Go to the fair website and take a look around. See what crazy fried foods are on the menu this year, see what bands are playing on the main stage, and what exhibits to check out. There is a lot more to the fair than rides and games. This year we tried the fried chicken and dumplings, fried cake balls, corn dogs (a staple), cinnamon rolls, fried frito pie, and SO MANY MORE things. I swear being pregnant has never come in so handy. No one judges a pregnant woman ordering fried food. Also make time for the exhibits, car show, and animals. There really is so much to do.

Do Your Research: This is another part of planning it out but do your research to find out the best places to snack, go to the bathroom, breast feed (if you need to), and get the most out of your experience.

First Things First: There are a few musts at the State Fair. You must get a corn dog immediately because they are the best thing there. You must see the car show because it’s fun and it’s air conditioned, and by the time you get there you will want both. You must try something weird and fried. You must ride my favorite ride, Techno Power. You must go on the ferris wheel. You also MUST check out the cute animals because goats, horses, and pigs are precious.

Technology Is Your Friend: This year at the Fair I got to partner with AT&T GoPhone to enhance my experience. We met up with friends and trying to track them down was a little tougher in the big environment. I was so glad I had this phone to stay in contact with them. AT&T is hitting all of summer 2016’s best music, sports and family-friendly festivals to raise awareness of AT&T’s prepaid wireless service, GoPhone. During summer and fall, your focus should be on making memories and living in the moment, not on your monthly wireless bills and data overages. AT&T offers great smartphones at exceptional prices that make it affordable for everyone to have the latest GoPhone. AT&T offers the ability to break free from annual contracts and take a more flexible approach to wireless plans. With AT&T GoPhone prepaid plans, you can choose from a variety of plans that fit your needs and budget every month, on AT&T’s reliable 4G LTE network. It was fun to take tons of pics, text as much as I needed, and really enjoy the fair.

Are there any deals to save on the all the rides you want for one price wrist bands? What are the prices and discount prices for the wrist bands that allow you to pay one set price for all the rides?

  15. Fairs aren’t my place…we have one in my home town every year and I usually go with my family for dinner, but then since none of us are rides, we leave after we eat and since the crowds can make us anxious, we go early and don’t stay too long. LOL But we DO enjoy them!

  18. Oh gosh, it’s been FOREVER since I’ve had a corn dog! I have a huge county state fair in the town I grew up in and I’ve never been before! I think I’d probably try to eat everything, so it’s probably best that I don’t go, haha. 🙂

I’d love to win for my son while he is out I usually give him his phone, but he cracked it while throwing it up in the air. I guess he learned his lesson on that, lol, so now looking for a better phone and this would be the one (: so I know where he is at, at all times. I have him use it to call me if he is going to a different friends, etc, or when it is time to come home.

I think this phone would be wonderful to have in many situations. When I’m going somewhere and trying to carry as little as possible this would be great to grab and go. Any time I lose/damage etc an item whether it cost $10 or $1000 I so hate it however I seem to get past it more quickly if it’s the $10 item. And the fact that this phone is compatible to my phone is the icing on the cake. Thanks so much.

Fair food is my favorite part about going to the fair! I would like to win because I am prolly one of few ppl left on this planet without a smart phone! Just yesterday, I could have saved money at the grocery store, if I had one. I needed one to show a digital coupon to the cashier. I would love a Go phone!
