6 Healthy Attitudes To Adopt

I spent a lot of time in my younger years with some unhealthy attitudes about food and fitness and life in general! As I have gotten older I have tried to really find a good balance in that department. Definitely something I am constantly working on and working towards. I have found a few healthy attitudes to adopt I thought others might find helpful as well.

6 Healthy Attitudes To Adopt

You Never Regret A Workout: I try to tell myself this ANY TIME I don’t want to work out. I do a mix of Peloton cycling, barre, strength, yoga, and running. I also try to make it to the gym for Pilates 1-2 times a week if I can! What helps is booking Peloton classes with friends! It’s fun accountability!

Save it for a rainy day (or a house or car): A healthy attitude about money is important. If you don’t NEED it save it. Treat yourself as you can but save money too!

Food is not a bribe or a punishment: As someone who hasn’t always looked at food in the best light, I am here to tell you that food is to nourish you and enjoy! I need to tell myself this more. If you concentrate on WHOLE foods that nourish your body you will be fine. Don’t bribe yourself with food or punish yourself because of food.

Why put off till tomorrow what you can do today: Being productive is something I actually enjoy. Sitting around doing nothing is only fun to me when I feel ahead on work and life stuff. Putting things off till later if you can actually get it done today will make you more stressed trust me.

Don’t go to bed with your makeup on: If I could go back and smack my 23-year-old self I would tell her to wash her dang face before going to bed. Going to bed with makeup on is terrible for your skin! A great habit to get into sooner rather than later as your skin will look younger much longer if you take care of it. Bonus if you implement a great skincare routine.

80/20: I really try to do this for everything. Food, exercise, fun, etc. 80% of the time I try to eat really well, exercise, use clean skincare products, etc. But life is about balance and you can’t NEVER have the queso or the cake.

I really try to live by these healthy attitudes but I am so far from perfect. I am trying to remind myself of all of these constantly!

I would love to know which healthy attitudes to adopt you do?

  1. I need to take the food tip to heart! Food is definitely not a punishment. I have a really bad relationship with good and it’s time to face it head on…

I came to learn of the 80-20 rule (Pareto Principle) when I was working a corporate job. It is 80% of the results come from 20% of the causes. I also believe this principle can be applied to achieve a healthy lifestyle. We need to focus on the causes (lack of exercise, unhealthy eating habits, not getting enough sleep, etc) to achieve a healthy life.

These are pretty similar to the “rules” I try to live by. I will admit, though, I’m really bad about cleaning my face at night. Mostly because I prefer to do it in the shower and I shower in the mornings most days. But thank you for the reminder, I am going to go do it now before I forget tonight!

Such great tips! I really need to stop wearing makeup to bed! And I love the tips about exercising. I LOVE to exercise but don’t always have the motivation to do so. And I’ve been trying to adopt the mindset of “just get it done now!”. Thank you for sharing!

80/20 is my attitude too. I have to eat really well and only splurge on unhealthy eating once in a while. I have been eating more veggies over meat recently and been happy with eating more diverse veggies in my diet.

These are great tips! I’m definitely going to start utilizing the ‘never regret a workout’ one. That’s so true! It’s hard to get myself into the gym some days, but I always feel better afterwards and relieved I can check it off that I finished my workout that day.
