8 Summer Clothing Items Every 30 Something Needs

A swimsuit you feel great in: I feel like swimsuit shopping is a legit hellish experience. Back in January when we went to Antigua I splurged and ordered a Cossie and Co swimsuit. They are pricey but honestly I feel so amazing in it I don’t even care! I do the scoop neck top and high waist bottoms!

Shorts that make you comfortable: Another bone of contention I have shopping is shorts. Only because I have such an odd shaped body. I have a small waist but big hips, and I have thighs. So denim shorts especially can be tough to find. These are my favorite pair of denim shorts by Frame and while they are expensive they are completely worth it!

Dresses that work for your body type: I love dresses in the summer! So easy to throw on for a date night, or night out with friends. I just can’t wear jeans in Texas when it’s 100 degrees out. I held out for a LONG time on the nap dress trend. Mostly because they seemed so expensive and I wanted to be sure I loved them. Long story short I found a brand new one for about half the price  with tags. I fell in love with it and I ordered two more. I even ordered some matching for Charlotte. I think these are truly the perfect summer dresses and they fit my body so well!

Shoes that don’t kill your feet: Life is way too short to wear any shoes that don’t feel comfortable. I really hadn’t worn heels in a LONG time but then I discovered these Dolce Vita heels and immediately became obsessed. The first night I wore them I walked nearly a mile in them and had no issues. These Stuart Weitzman sandals have become my go to for casual nights. I have clear and black and they are all I wore when we went to Antigua. They are a jelly sandal material which makes them perfect for a beach vacation!

Biker shorts you actually love: I really didn’t want to love biker shorts originally.  But like with a lot of things, I gave in. I found these lounge biker shorts from Target (Only $12) that I fell in love with and then discovered these Beyond Yoga biker shorts as well. Both are amazing options.

A trendy belt-bag: This is a trend I have been all in on for a while! I love a good belt bag! If you head to that post you can see all of my favorites at different price points! The Lululemon one is a must!

Sunglasses people think are more expensive than they are: I love a good pair of expensive designer sunglasses but that’s not necessary at all! Some of my favorite sunglasses were VERY cheap! These Celine dupes from Amazon are some of my go to sunglasses. I have a pair of Celine’s and frankly I can’t tell the difference other than the real Celine ones are a little heavier. I also LOVE these Madewell sunglasses.

A few tops that go with everything: For some reason I find this to be the hardest thing on this list! But once I figured out the kinds of tops that work best for my body it was a game changer. This top from Free People is a favorite. I have it in two colors and it’s currently on MAJOR sale. It’s so flattering and works well with shorts or jeans! Madewell always has tons of tops that fit well and look great one. This one is a win!

If you are like me and want to find some new summer clothing items every 30 something needs you will absolutely find some winners here!

Yes to almost all of this! I prefer a backpack to a belt bag, but otherwise have all of these! I just bought myself a new swim suit for the summer and I love it. My sunglasses are always expensive, though, because they are prescription so I don’t have wiggle room with those.

This is a great list for summer wardrobe. As I am gaining more experience I start believing comfort is more important than the style that hurts you. Dresses for summer are just perfect. I love wearing floral dresses.

I’ve agreed, these are definitely the things we need this summer season. As everyone missed the beach, we need to ready our swimwear and sunglasses.

Yes to all of these, especially comfy shoes. I’ve spend most of my 20s wearing shoes that killed my feet but looked cute. Not worth it to me anymore!
