I have written a few posts in the past about healthy eating tips and tricks, but today I want to focus on healthy alternatives. I have a sweet tooth and I also love things like chips, queso, and basically any carb. But guys I am not 20, and I do not have the metabolism I used to. So what can a girl do? You have to find healthy alternatives so you can still enjoy yummy things without feeling too guilty.

Want to have chips and queso but not the calories? I am a huge Tex Mex fan and trust me those chips and queso get me every time. We use hummus (black bean or regular) and mix it with salsa in the microwave for about a minute. Then stir and you have a creamy, queso like concoction without all the bad stuff! I also use blue corn flax chips or Food Should Taste Good chips!
Want to have one of those fancy coffee caramel or coconut drinks without the guilt? Try making regular coffee then using Silk® Nutchello™ in the Caramel Almond Cashew Flavor or your Silk® Nutchello™ of choice for various flavors! I really love Silk® Nutchello™ because it’s dairy free, and lower in sugar, saturated fat, and cholesterol. I posted a drink recipe for the one I am currently loving a couple of weeks ago.

Love those smoothies you get at specialty smoothie shops, but don’t love the pure sugar? Make a smoothie at home! Use pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, apple, spinach, kale, two packets of Truvia, and any kind of Nutchello! I just use about half a cup! It gives it a really fun yummy flavor! Also great for those smoothie bowls that are all the rage! Top with granola or sliced berries 🙂
Love sandwiches? Use whole wheat English Muffins as your bread of choice! Less calories and just as filling!
Need a sweet tooth fix and a big fan of birthday cake? Try this birthday cake smoothie recipe from Silk! OBSESSED! I made it last weekend and it tastes just like birthday cake! Also, bonus, it’s perfect for summer!

Love mixed drinks like Margaritas and Daiquiris? They can be full of sugar and calories that are just unnecessary! This yummy recipe from Silk has me craving a Daiquiri! This chocolate Margarita recipe sounds better than any high calorie restaurant Margarita!

Love pasta? Make zoodles! Seriously, one of the best investments I made was buying a spiralizer. This one here is less than $10 and works amazingly well. I have it, I use it weekly and I love it! I prep a few zucchinis on the weekends and then during the week for lunch I heat up pasta sauce and add in ground turkey for some extra protein. Very filling, very good, and no carb overload.
These are just a few healthy alternatives to leave you feeling satisfied and not deprived. Life is fun, enjoy it and enjoy food!
This post was sponsored by Silk as part of an influencer activation for the #SilkCrowd and Socialstars™. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review, but all opinions are my own.

Amazing, this sounds more healthier! Lovely article 🙂
Haven’t heard of this before, will be checking it out.
Love finding healthier alternatives! This sounds good!
I’ve seen this but haven’t tried it. It looks so good.
I love Silk almond milk but I would not call Nutchello healthy. It has 9 grams of sugar per serving. That’s almost twice the daily recommended amount. Sugar has been linked to virtually every disease.
Love zoodles more than regular pasta! These are all great subs. I can’t wait to try the Nutchello as soon as I’m done with the Whole30. Only one more week, and then I’m having one of those coffee drinks!
Yum! Those look amazing 🙂 I’m sitting here with my once in awhile sugary coffee drink… but I’m feeling kind of guilty now ha
I haven’t seen these in the store yet!!! I love the Silk Cashew and Almond milks!!! Especially the Dark Chocolate ones!
Ooooo I’ve never heard about this but it looks so delicious!

One of my goals is to eat healthier and start making smoothies at home, so I’ll have to give Silk a try. Zoodles are also on my list!

The carmel looks delicious! I am going to have to try this!
I have never even heard of this! Nom nom! Sounds delish
These look so good! I haven’t seen them at my grocer yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for them!
I’m addicted to my iced coffee, so any healthier options are appreciated!
This is a great option for popsicles too! I hate smoothies that are just pure sugar!
These sound like such a great alternative to add to my iced coffees this summer! The fact that they are dairy free is an added plus for me.
I’ve never seen that creamer in my local stores. It does look like a delicious mix in for our morning coffee.
This is my first time to see these and I’m so glad. I bet this one as an healthy alternatives. Bookmarked!
I’ve never heard of these before but it looks amazing!
