Summer Beauty Routine

Is it just me, or can summer end at any time now? Seriously, I hate the heat. It makes it so hard to want to look cute or put effort into a beauty routine. Makeup feels like its going to melt off of your face and multiple showers a day are necessary in the 100+ heat. But I have found a summer beauty routine that works pretty well for me. It’s pretty basic and very easy but makes my skin and hair feel the best in the summer.

Summer Beauty Routine

So the first thing I do in the shower is wash my face. I use the Clarisonic Mia 2 which I have only been using for a few months. I was worried that with my sensitive skin it wouldn’t work well, but I haven’t had any issues and I really love it. I use it with Neutrogena face wash which I have been using for years.

Then I shave with Skintimate Dry Skin, which is my all year round favorite. It really makes my skin feel super soft.

I wash my hair with Herbal Essences Wild Naturals. I was sent a sample of this to try and I ended up loving it. I have repurchased this several times and the smell is AMAZING! I also use the conditioner. Super price friendly too!

For body wash I have been using the Neutrogena Grapefruit Body Wash. It’s great for the summer months when you may have some unwanted skin issues. Bummer.

After my shower I have been using the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. OH MY GOSH. Y’all this stuff is amazing. It’s made to use while your skin is still wet so you can even keep it in the shower and put it on right after you turn off the water. That’s what I do. It makes my skin SO SO SO soft! Which is great for the months where you may be putting lots of other things on your skin (sunscreen, bug spray, etc) that can dry it out. It does not leave your skin feeling oily or sticky, just soft. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is specially formulated to work with water. It instantly absorbs on wet skin to take advantage of skin’s peak moisture moment (the time when skin is most receptive to moisture). It absorbs two times faster for 24-hour soft skin. This will be something I use for a long time to come.

Then I spray my tried and true It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-in, in my hair. This is great for anyone who uses heat on their hair because it protects it from becoming damaged. I have been using this stuff since back in the day where you had to have your hair dresser order it for you.

I use Cerave moisturizer on my face which really works great for my sensitive skin.

I have been loving the Dove Dry Spray since it came out a few months ago. It’s a great deodorant!

I always end things by putting my favorite Agave Lip Balm on my lips to keep them from getting dry and chapped, which seems to happen no matter the outside temps.

That’s my easy, basic, summer beauty routine. I really don’t wear much makeup in the summer unless we are going out. I always do my brows and put on mascara, but other than that I really don’t do much during the week. It’s just too hot y’all. Props to everyone out there who can do it though!

What is your summer beauty routine must have?

This is a great routine! I love products like this because it helps the heat makes it hard to stay feeling fresh in the summer.

I’m usually SO READY for Summer to be done, too, because I’m totally a cool-weather girl, but I don’t want to see it go this year for some reason!!! Treating yourself with self care is always a great way to make you feel better and happier! 🙂 Even with simple things, it can feel indulgent!

I wish I could say I used any of this stuff but I gave all the chemicals up for all- natural products a few years ago. I only use coconut oil, natural deoderants, toothpaste, and goat milk soap… :/ But I love your blog! 🙂

Washing my face is the first thing I do when I get in the shower too! I haven’t tried those things either because I was worried about my sensitive skin but maybe I’ll have to!

  7. I use a bunch of natural products I make with coconut and essential oils, but I totally agree with you – summer can end ANY time now! The beauty routine is super minimal. I usually don’t even dry my hair because it’s too hot!

I use that same wet skin moisturizer and it is a major game changer, I absolutely love it and don’t know if I could shower without it. It keeps my legs from getting dry unlike any other lotion I’ve ever had!

  9. I don’t want summer to ever end! I’m the total opposite, I hate the cold and wearing layers. I’ll admit sometimes it’s hard to make an effort to do my makeup or hair in the summer but I still prefer it over the fall and winter.

I have dry & sensitive skin too. When I go shopping and find beauty products that are labeled “for dry skin” it’s mine. Haha.

  13. I usually love summer but this year it’s killer. We haven’t seen 100+ degree heat in so long and it feels suffocating. I’m actually looking forward to cooler weather. My go to beauty products for summer have been Hask Essentials 5 in 1 hair rescue and Ogx orchid oil with UVA/UVB sun filters and a basic bronzer/mascara for my face. That’s about it.

I certainly wouldn’t mind trying that wet skin moisturizer. I do moisturize right away, but with one that’s made for it, it’s bound to soak in better.

  30. If your moisturizer are are more prone to acne then avoid use of non-comedogenic products. These products are generally designed to clog pores. Instead, prefer oil free or non comedogenic route to cure off pimples.

I love seeing how different everyone’s routine is. I rarely use lotions/creams/moisturizers and if I do it’s just because my legs are showing. I can’t stand how it feels on my hands.
