4 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself This Holiday Season

I feel like during the holidays we can run ourselves ragged. It’s so easy to forget to take care of you while you’re busy trying to find the perfect gifts, go to all the parties and events, and do all the things. Today I am sharing 4 ways to take care of yourself this holiday season so you don’t feel like you need a vacation come January!

4 Ways To Take Care Of Yourself This Holiday Season

Take Care Of Your Hair: With all the parties and events, you can really damage your hair this time of year. Plus colder weather can make your scalp dry and flakey! Especially if you’re one of the 50 percent of people who have issues with dry, itchy scalp and dandruff, which can get worse when the temperatures drop. Luckily, Sam’s Club is offering a great deal on a tea tree and peppermint-infused product from Head & Shoulders that will ensure the only flakes on your shoulders this winter are snow. Unless you’re like me and you live in Texas where snow is about as rare as it gets. But still even in Texas I can get really dry and flaky and itchy scalp issues! I love this shampoo and conditioner. It smells AMAZING! Even Andrew wants to use it! It’s also on a major deal, so it’s the best time to stock up! Through November 26, you can receive an additional $5 off any two body and hair care items from favorite brands like Head & Shoulders, Old Spice and Secret at Sam’s Club. You can mix and match your hair and body items to stock up on products for the whole family.

I have talked before about how much we LOVE the Sam’s Club Scan & Go app. You can skip the checkout line and save time by downloading the app to your mobile device and scanning your items with your phone as you shop in the club. Check out with the app and your receipt will appear on your phone. It’s so easy and quick! Download the app:

Take Care Of Your Mentality: I love the app, Headspace. It’s a great way to meditate and really calm down during the holiday stress. I also am a big fan of yoga. These are great ways to take care of your mentality so the holiday stress doesn’t get to you! It’s one of the most stressful times of year.

Take Care Of Your Sleep: It can be so easy to want to do ALL THE THINGS. Sometimes you have to say no to something and get the extra few hours of sleep. Otherwise you will make yourself sick and you may not be able to do any of the fun stuff you want!

Take Care Of Your Body: While it can be easy to want to indulge in all the cookies, pastries, drinks, etc. remember to take care of your body with moderation. Everything in moderation. Also, this is not the time of year to skip the gym. Make sure to give yourself time to get some workouts in, even a 2 mile walk around your neighborhood. It will make detoxing after the holidays SO much easier!

Make sure to shop at Sam’s Club or samsclub.com through November 26 for an additional $5 Instant Savings off any combination of two body and/or hair care items like 2-packs of Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 Instant Relief Shampoo & Conditioner, available for a limited time only. No coupon needed – savings will be automatically calculated when you check out at the register in-club, with the Scan & Go app or on samsclub.com.

  1. What’s on my priority list this winter is taking care of myself emotional. I have SAD and I always start feeling depressed when the sky darkens during this time of the year. Gotta get myself together!

  3. Ooh sounds like some nice shampoo/conditioner. My hair has been pretty itchy lately so it might be worth trying. Also – so with you on sleep. If I don’t get enough, I tend to get physically sick.

Thanks for the reminder that self-care is so important. We tend to get lost in taking care of everyone else during the holiday season that we put our own self on the back burner. I love that you shared some simple ways to self-care during this busy season!

I like these ideas. You can’t neglect your scalp health, especially when the air is cold and dry. Yoga should be really great for the loosening up the cold muscles too.

Thank you for the timely reminder. I fell ill a few days ago, and I guess that was because of stress. It is true that stress can increase your susceptibility to illness! I really have to find time to take better care of myself.

  21. Such easy, no-brainer ways to take care of yourself through the holidays, and yet they are so important. I have been struggling with sleep since the time change, thank goodness it is starting to get better now. Ha…my cats are finally starting to settle in and not waking me up so early. 😉
