7 Ways For Personal Growth

I feel like everyone is always working on personal growth. I mean growing is important. You can’t stay stagnant. I am one of those people who wants to be a better version of myself constantly. So today I am sharing 7 ways for personal growth that may help you if you are in the same boat!

7 Ways For Personal Growth

Read: The best way for personal growth in my opinion is reading. I love love love to read. From business books, to books about being a better version of myself, to just for fun fiction. If you are curious, some of my favorites reads can be found here.

Podcasts: I love to listen to podcasts. In fact I often am super behind because I subscribe to over 40!!! I can’t help it there are great ones out there. I love to start my day with a personal growth style podcasts. My favorite, is Happier with Gretchen Rubin.

Take A Trip Alone: I can’t stress this ENOUGH to my single and childless friends. Travel alone! I did it when I was single and also when I was married but did not have a baby. Obviously I have different priorities now but traveling alone teaches you so much about yourself.

Go Inward: Self reflect. What is making you happy. What’s making you unhappy? I am loving this workbook. It really gives you prompts to reflect on that.

Journal: Yes I have my blog but personal private journaling really gives me a chance to vent, reflect, and grow. I get to write my honest feelings about things out on paper.

Take Stock Of Who’s In Your Life: Sometimes the thing that’s stopping us from growing the most are the people. Not all of them, but we all have had people in our lives that stop us from truly being us. Some of the most freeing things I’ve done are letting go of friendships where I felt I couldn’t truly be myself. Or those people weren’t bringing out the best in me. It makes room for people in your life who really will bring out the best in you.

Make Changes: Where do you feel like you need to change? The way you act? The people in your life? Your happiness? Once you figure out where the changes need to be made you can start a personal growth towards that.

I hope you feel like these steps will help with personal growth! What do you do for personal growth?

  1. I’m all for taking a trip alone! I think travelling solo at least once in your life is so important. It doesn’t have to be a long trip, nor does it have to be an expensive one. But it’s so life-changing to learn to rely on yourself and enjoy your own company. 🙂

  6. This is a timely post for me this week. I have been struggling with ways to effectively communicate on my site with those who have differing view points and refuse to look at any other options, solutions, or facts that might counter a point. The recommendations you provided on today’s list are all relevant and very applicable to many aspects of life, both personally and professionally. Thanks again for your insights. They mean a lot and I will definitely recommend your article to my readers as well. Kindest Wishes for a wonderful day as we head into the weekend. ~Mary (World of Writer Mom)

Every once in a while I take stock of who I allow into my world. Often find some damaging friendships that need to be reevaluated. Great advice!

I am a great fan of reading, journaling, and podcasts. I have heard very good things about that Gretchen Rubin podcast (and her books as well!) but have not tried it yet. I listen to a lot of history and retro theme podcasts. I like learning little interesting things via podcasts each day.

These are all great tips on how to improve ourselves. For me, I read a lot of self-help and motivational books. There are very good life lessons to be learned through those kinds of books. As much as I would love to travel alone as frequently as I wish, it would not be possible because of matters in the home that demand my attention, so for personal growth, I just make the most of what is available for me.
