4 Ways To Relax

I am THE WORST at relaxing. I just always sit there thinking of all the things I COULD be doing. Does anyone else deal with this? It’s just hard in this day and time to relax. I wanted to share the 4 ways to relax I have been at least attempting to do more of!

4 Ways To Relax

Get Comfy: Nothing says relax more than a comfy outfit. I swear whoever made comfy clothes a thing gets 5 gold stars. Recently I got to try out Cuddl Duds. Y’all! Imagine the softest blanket you own but in clothing. These pants are the softest pants I have ever owned. The long sleeve crew neck is beyond flattering and the hoodie feels like I am wearing a blanket. As soon as I put them on I felt like I could immediately relax! That’s HUGE! Cuddl Duds isn’t JUST for relaxing! You could wear this to walk your dog, take the baby to the park, to a movie with your husband, to grab a bite and glass of wine with the girls! Anything really! You can purchase Cuddl Duds at JCPenney.

Find A Good Read: One of my favorite ways to relax is to read. There’s something about getting lost in a great book. Now that you have your comfy clothes on, curl up with a great book and try to mentally check out for a little while. I always feel so refreshed after I read. Currently I am rereading two books: One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid and Present Over Perfect.

Brew some coffee: Coffee truly relaxes me. To me coffee is Sunday mornings, candle burning, comfy clothes, and relaxing. Brew some coffee (or tea or cocoa-depending on your preference) and curl up with your comfy clothes and good book!

Meditate: If all else fails, meditate. I have tried the app, Headspace a few times to really relax. Especially when I just feel overwhelmed. It’s really amazing what a good meditation session can do for you. I know so many people who swear by daily meditation for relaxing. While I haven’t gotten there yet, to be able to do it daily is something I really strive for and want to do more of.

What is ONE way you relax?

  1. I know what you mean about being bad at relaxing! My boyfriend always tells me I need to let go of work, haha. But I always feel like I’m not being productive when I’m having me-time!

  2. That chair looks so ridiculously comfortable. I can see why you’d make it a part of your relaxation ritual.

  4. Get comfy is a good one. I love summer and hot weather but I am excited about winter when I can snuggle up in my sweats and coffee.

I think we are twins! This is me. Love them all. Coffee is so relaxing to me. I live in comfy clothes. I absolutely love to read. And I do meditate a bit. Meditating isn’t something I do often but I do lie to sit quietly.

I am TERRIBLE about relaxing and when I have free time to actually relax, I always feel like I should be doing something and start trying to figure out what I can do to be productive. For me, cozy clothes and a cup of tea is a great way to start that process of relaxation. Last night I took a long hot shower (granted, it was mostly long because I needed to shave my legs LOL) but when I stepped out of the shower after, I realized just how relaxing it was!

When I worked at JCP (YEARS ago!) I tried Cuddl Duds for the first time. I LOVE them. They’re great for lounging, or layering in the winter.

That chair looks so comfy! I love reading but have trouble making sure I find time to unwind and get into a book frequently. Great post 🙂

I am the exact same way. In the past I believed working was the best way to relax since I’m marking stressors off my list. But there’s nothing like some good ol’ fashioned turn off time. Also, I thought I was the only one who could relax with coffee. 🙂

Oooh yes for getting lost in a book! I also go hiking and backpacking…which may not seem relaxing but it clears your mind and so when I finally stop I’m usually happy and relaxed! Plus they say now that nature actually reduces stress and helps you relax…so yay being outside! Best relaxation scenario (for me at least)? Hammock. In the mountains. With a book. <3

  19. I’ve never been that good at relaxing either but I’m getting better at it now that the kids are older. It’s important for us to be kind to ourselves.

Guilty. I have definitely sat around with the intention to relax, only to have my mind swim with things I could be doing. It’s hard to out and out relax.

  21. Thanks for all this information! Personally I use music. If I need to relax I just tune into some internet radio station with chillout music or smooth nature sounds.

My relax time is when I sleep. Doesn’t matter if it is a full night’s sleep or a short nap on the couch. If I am awake, I always reach out for a good book , a cup of coffee or tea and a slice of cake.

  24. I like going for a run when I’m stressed, or taking a nice hot shower or bath. Or cuddling up with a hot cup of coffee and binging on Netflix. 🙂
